I love the idea of smaller guns at the front of the ship, used to chase down prey that eludes you. At dock, you can swap out your harpoons for swivel guns which take a new type of ammunition that can be found like any other of the supplies in the game. This new ammunition type would be called Smallshot, or possibly something more accurate to the setting, but i will use smallshot to describe it from here in. Smallshot would take the place of cannonballs in your inventory, and would stack to 10 just the same. Smallshot would not be able to be fired from, or even loaded into a normal cannon, only into a swivel gun. The swivel guns would have the exact same angles, and movement speed as the harpoons, and smallshot fired from them would have the same arc as a cannonball, along with the same speed, and loading time. Smallshot would not hit the same as a cannonball however. They would have extremely small explosion radius, and do maybe 10% damage in the explosion radius, and 25% on a direct hit. Additionally, smallshot would be able to put holes in a ship, BUT it would not be able to create holes larger than level 1, and could not enlarge a hole beyond that to a level 2, or 3. I think this would be a nice addition to the game, and if the concept was tested with the insider program, maybe they could also think of letting blunderbombs be fired out of the swivel gun. My reasoning for it is that chasing down a ship can sometimes be very time consuming, especially if they are in the same ship as you, you mostly wait for them to make a mistake, and have to fend off boarders, and traps in the water with no recourse but to keep chasing, or give up. This would add at least some kind of measure for the chaser to do something back, during the chase.
