The FPS don't make you a better player or a worse player. Having more or less isn't the issue.
Now this isn't to say if you play at 120fps then drop to 30fps its not going to affect you. Same with going from 30fps to 120fps. There is a period where your brain and eyes have to get used to the setting. However, once you are used to it, its the same thing.
I played on 30fps for months on PC just to see if there was any real difference. Can't remember how long it took to get used to the feel of the screen but it wasn't long and once I got used to it there was no change to the gameplay.
Higher FPS is not going to make you an FPS god. Players keep believing this because thats what players have believed forever however if it was true then that would mean higher FPS players would always beat lower FPS players and that just doesn't happen.
There are more 60FPS players then there are 120FPS players in games like overwatch however players with 60FPS are winning just fine.
Don't use FPS as a crutch to why you are losing, it'll hinder your growth as a player. If you die and go "aw man if only my FPS was faster" that is slowing your growth. Don't put some believe that there is some magical force keeping you from winning. Always adapt, always learn, always try new tactics and new things, always believe that you can do better. Don't ever believe you are being held back by something as trivial as FPS.
