Got a buddy that doesn't play anymore after a rough Kraken, server merge, then re-Krakened.
Megs, Skelly Ships, and another Galleon were in the mix too.
After the server merge though (we had the FoTD key) 3 Brigs, a Sloop and a Galleon started chasing us for the next 3-4 hours.
We were Reapers before the server merge, but not after. (Cause we got sunk to the Kraken before the server merge.)
There was also no loot in the FoTD because it disappeared after the server merge.
Wasn't aware of the fact that the Kraken spawns in-between forts at that time, otherwise I would have not left the fort.
Basically, there was a couple mermaids that hadn't disappeared yet, so we were paranoid that they were on the island, so we planned on sailing around for a minute first. They may have logged as soon as we sailed away, triggering a server merge.
I think the whole way the Kraken spawns is just counter-intuitive and causes far more problems than not.
Sometimes, the Skullforts/fleets are down far longer than they are up, because people finish them in under 5-10 minutes.
Sometimes, nobody ever does the Skullforts/Fleets.
I find too, that while solo-slooping, if I'm busy doing something else, I'm far more likely to not notice the cloud has disappeared.
This creates the effect where I encounter the Kraken while solo FAR more often than with a full crew on a Galleon.
Mind you, I do solo sloop more, but in each play session I encounter the Kraken about 3-5 times.
