@papy-pitch I think you are missing the point.
It's fun to meet people from other parts of the world, however, that is not the main goal of Arena. One of the main goal of Arena (and Adventure or any other online game) is to deliver on a fluid and smooth online experience, with the minimum possible less lag.
If two players are from so distant places, it means that one of them is within a very long distance to the server. That player, will have a very high ping, meaning his/her experience will be bad (not fluid and smooth) with a lot of lag. This is the reason online games usually have matchmaking algorithms that place together people who are not living so far apart.
I live in Europe and, usually, I don't have issues when I'm playing with players from Europe. In this case, my ping is, usually, under 80 ms. Sometimes I'm placed with people that live on the East coast and my ping goes for ranges of 120-150ms. This is already a very bad experience, with very noticeable lag. If I'm playing only PvE, it can be bearable, but if I'm doing PvP (in Adventure or Arena) it's horrible!
Now, sometimes I also encountered people from West coast and even Australia (!). My ping on those occasions was 200-350ms and it was almost unplayable. This should never happen if you are matchmaking solo or with a crew that is from the same region! Never.
