Infinite Searching The Seas bug

    There is a bug were if you leave a game, or disconnect, and then try to rejoin. The loading screen gets stuck on Searching The Seas.

    Anyone else had this issue?

    We have seen this issue being mentioned a few times now, I do know this is actively being investigated so should be fixed soonish/eventually.

    I got this yesterday. I started a gally for the group. Got kicked to main menu . Then I tried everything to rejoin . Restarted modem and xbox still couldn't rejoin.

    For everyone who have been having this issue reinstalling the game fixed the bug for me.

    Is there a hotfix coming for this? Or are we going to suffer this until the next patch? I lost some commendations + rep since i couldn't join back after crash. Although the rep/gold i dont care about. But since it was a voyage that isn't in the game anymore I cant get the commendations :(

    @musicmee Hello - The patch did not fix my problem. I tried rejoining my session and am still stuck on "searching the seas" after being disconnected from the server.

    @goodness Yeah still issues here too... I know Rare are aware and investigating a fix.

    @musicmee My crew was stuck on this so I did a hard reset. Upon trying to join my previous session, it let them load in, but we loaded in to a different server with a fresh ship

    Extremely annoying bug. Got to the end of our Athena and Emissary bonus voyage only to get nothing for it because i couldn't re-join. Hope it gets fixed soon.

    Can confirm it happened again. I'm gonna try what someone said and reinstall

    Can confirm that reinstall doesn't work the only difference it made was it was slow to switch from recruiting a crew then to searching the seas

    I’ve been having the same issue over the past few days. It doesn’t seem like there is a fix for it yet. Nevertheless, I’ll be on the lookout for something.

    @Musicmee anyone we can contact so that it can be put on the top of the sea of thieves support twitter? just an acknowledgment of the issue and an explanation of how to reproduce it, can help other players from being frustrated.

    Yeah, this is a rough bug for anyone that has it happen.

    So far, theories seem to be that whoever starts the ship/session, can't leave, otherwise they can't rejoin. Then, I think it assigns the 2nd player as the 'starter' and THEY won't be able to rejoin if they leave (and so on).
    I have had it happen to my crew-mates a few times now.

    I've been wondering if it is accidentally related to the new Arena punishment for leaving/quitting matches. My friend, last night, said the game was giving him Arena strikes against him while he was trying to rejoin us. And we hadn't played Arena.

    Hopefully it is fixed soon! My mates missed out on a lot of loot.
