Special Delivery is similar to Cargo Delivery, but it has three new cargo types and is specifically long range.
Cargo Types:
- Important Documents (Looks like scrolls in a crate). Cannot get wet or burnt.
- Chained Bone Crate (A heavily chained crate with a green glow on the lid's rim). Can summon skeleton ships at sea.
- Crate of Dues (A crate stuffed with papers and gold). Marks your ship on the map for other players with the Merchant Alliance symbol.
Each Voyage gives all three of these chests. The voyage has an expiration and an additional reward on completion. Skeleton ships summoned by the chest remain active while the Chained Bone Crate is active and then sink back into the ocean when the crate becomes inactive, making them harder to actually sink. The voyage will always end at an outpost and will always be a distant outpost (no quick journeys).
The cargo can be sold by other players at the destination or reaper's hideout, they do not get the bonus for completing the voyage however.
An example of the values may be:
Important Documents: 2,500 gold
Chained Bone Crate: 2,500 gold
Crate of Dues: 2,500 gold
Voyage Complete: 2,500 gold
This gives the players a total of a 10k reward for traversing a large area of the map while being harried by skeleton ships and potentially other players. If other players catch them they can expect a 7.5k hand-in. During this time the ship can also be attacked by normal skeleton ships, the meg, kraken, etc.
The only cargo that is vulnerable is the Important Documents. However, since losing it means the voyage cannot be completed it's value is 5,000 gold for the voyaging merchants.
This gives merchants a more combat oriented voyage (still focused on avoiding combat over engaging) and gives other players a notable target they can plot and intercept.
