Will people who purchased the full game through microsoft be able to obtain a key for Steam?
Will we get keys for Steam?
I currently have no information about it. I can also assess that badly.
I think that it would not be a bad idea to at least connect your Steam account to Sea of Thieves, because it is "important" for me personally to be able to pay with the Steam balance.
If someone has a different view, I'm happy to hear about it: D
@aploq
It's been confirmed that you will have to buy the game again on steam and connect to xbox account.It is no different to how it is atm for PC players except you get an overlay for steam.
@roverandom5158
I Understand. Will you be able to pay for cosmetic items with the Steam balance or has that not been mentioned yet?@aploq
I dont think that's been mentioned yet.
I know Rare have been working on a FAQ to answer most of the questions but no idea when itll be published.Theres a lot of discussion in the steam thread here ...

Also can we stop saying PC. It's not on PC it's on Windows 10. It's weird when y'all say PC for Win10 app and then say Steam as if Win10 has a bigger library of games and content, promoting that mediocre app as the symbol of PC gaming
Im much more interested to see how they will integrate the chat system. Crossplay is confirmed, of course, but the much distinct instances of Steam party chat vs Xbox parties will make it much harder to get people on different platforms into a decent party chat together. Will there be a "recent players" kind of social menu or other analogous options on Steam? Will linking your Xbox and Steam accounts sync friend lists across both? Will Xbox players be able to directly invite friends who are playing on Steam? This is more what I'm concerned about.
Of course there is the Xbox Companion and Game Bar for PC to connect with xbox players, but honestly both are a glitchy mess. I would much more like to see an in-game friend list that was held serverside rather than on the respective social platforms.
