Stop tall tale repeating 5 times...

  • Hello,

Pretty quick and simple, we have to repeat a tall tale 5 times to get the full items unlocked...

My only question is why? I personally feel it's a terrible feature to force us to do the mission over and over JUST to get a skin for something. Allow it once where you can do everything in that mission, UNLESS there are seperate paths like the new curse one which both have seperate paths to go down (Even though half way down it turns into the same) but still..

We should not be forced to do them 5 times to get the skins if nothing really changes. Yeah a riddle changes here and there, but nothing else. It's terrible and mind sucking I feel.

If I wanted to do the tall tale again, I happily would just for the story but to repeat it when I've done them all once over and over and over for the skin or even the curse is a drain and takes away the fun off the game.

I've done each one once, and now I've got to do them all again for the gold skin curse... I should not have too!

  • This request is no different than wanting the pl weapons unlockable in adventure mode that are currently locked behind the arena mode. It's a cosmetic, it in no way enhances your game play. If you want it than they are going to make you work for it.

I have all the tall tale curses but have yet to invest time in arena mode for the pl weapons, I just cannot justify wasting 30+ minutes in a the lobby waiting around doing nothing. Maybe with the new arena update I'll give it a go.

Yes it sucked having to do them 5 times each but I took my time over a few month to avoid burning myself out.

If you want it work for it

  • @menphuess Just don’t do them five times if you don’t want to. Most of them have different clues and locations each time you do them. I’ve enjoyed doing them more than once. If you are turning it into a grind to get the bonus items, stop and do them if/when you want to repeat them.

  • Tall Tales are actually very well built around repetition. Each Tale has at least 3 possible variations, so you're rarely doing the same exact thing every time. I don't think it's a bad requirement, since it's an incentive to replay them with other people who may need to try them for the first time.
They already lowered the requirement to 3 times for the newest Tall Tales, Heart of Fire is especially great because each time you go down a different path.
Also, as others said, it's just cosmetic stuff, and a symbol of your experience and status. I too feel that some things are too hard to get, but I'm in no way upset about it; if there's something I really really want, I work hard to earn it. Decide by yourself if your effort is better spent on chasing achievements and enjoying the game, or complaining on the forums. Who knows, if you're persistent enough they may listen to you... But I seriously doubt that, and I disapprove of the method.

  • Why 5 times.
Because by chance, you do these tall tales differently, different islands, different riddles and outcomes are the same but how you got there.

Remember. You don’t have to do them 5 times. That final item to unlock you don’t need.

  • Then why not build a longer tall tale with a lot more to containing all details and information so it feels more like a story driven experience.

Maybe when on a tall tale, you are not able to get into any combat with players making it safer.

Making it 5 times playable for the unlocks with “different islands” still has the same outcome with the same gold, same sorta clue and same end scenario which is where the issue lies.

Also it would be the same as PL stuff and arena unlocks? No that is totally different to repeating a mission over and over.

  • None of the newer tall tales require 5 repeats so they've already changed this for future tales.

  • I think it's only 5 for the initial TTs to help facilitate newer players. Having to do them again so many times for that really cool cosmetic incentivizes you to play with more friends who are new and may not have done it yet. I think it was to help foster and grow the community in that way. If it was just 1 and done, there would be no real reason for those of us who have already done it to repeat it and help others that are new to the TT.
