The platform which you use to resurrect Grey Marrow could be used to resurrect skeletons!
Simply find a ritual skull and a normal skelly skull and place on platform. The skeleton will resurrect and be friendly.
There are pros and cons which should balance things out.
You can have up to a maximum of 3.
Once slain they are slain for good.
You must find another ritual skull and skelly skull if u wanna resurrect another.
Skellies know two comands. Follow and stay.
When sailing they will angle the sails as best they can with the wind however they dont do it like a pro. So therefore a sloop going against the wind will have angled fully to the left or right but we all know the fastest is the default position which would not be ideal and puts you at a disadvantage.
They will fire cannons but they arent very good shots.
They will not repair or bail.
What this will do is give yoy the ability to pilot huge galleons etc without all the angling etc meaning a small crew or even solo can pilot it. However you will probably want to kill your skellies if up against real players because they angke sails and shoot like noobs. Its mainly for just sailing and doing voyages.
To even promote balance even more, ritual skulls etc take some work so you will have to slog around in this galleon for some time.
They can help bigger crews too though, angling sails allowing the players to steer, patch and shoot.
I understand the vision is stricly no npc crews. I totslly get that but i dont see this being too intrusive.
A few shots on deck wipes out any crew they had. It makes them just another resource like any other.
They deliberately do the bare minimum too meaning you are best get a real crew. But if you wanna have a nice bedroom and sail around then sure, skellies can make it less painful, but every player can and will catch you unless you kill the skellies and takr control of your sails yourself.
