Sloops sink way too fast...

  • Am I crazy or do sloops sink way quicker than they used to... Literally if you have 2 holes on you and you die or leave your ship it will sink in the next 10 seconds. I feel like it should take on water a lot slower than it currently does at least give us a chance to survive if we die once lol.

  • Me and my friend only do the sloop and has been doing it since the stress tests.

I think the way holes and sinking times are right now, for all of the ships are perfectly balanced. It demands people to take care of their ship, and mistakes will have dire consequences.

In early Sea of Thieves, there was only one hole size type, and people could literally spam bail a ship out of a tight situation without sinking even with a hull full of holes. That's actually how the boarding meta came to be; because people couldn't sink others solely with cannonballs.

And to answer your statements, no a Sloop wont sink with 2 holes in the next 10 seconds, even if they're tier 3 holes (the big ones).

I literally got kegged by a random barrel spawn on the sea a few days ago and died, i had enough time to recover when i respawned, even though it was close.

  • I think sloops are perfectly balanced when you or a crewmate is on your ship. But when you die after being hit by a volcano or a keg your ship is every time beyond saving and sometimes you don't even respawn on your ship but just get a new ship when you respawn.
I say this because I've had many times when I was solo or duo in a sloop, that when hit and killed by a keg or volcano my sloop is just beyond repair (with that I mean water as high as the map table or even higher).

So or I'm doing something wrong every time or that's just not balanced very well.

  • you uhhhh, you do realize that sloops sink the slowest right? your asking for sloops to take even longer than normal.

  • Sloops are the most unsinkable ship in the game!!!

You can literally sail from one side of the map to the other with 3 holes in it and just occasionally, casually grabb’n a bucket and toss’n it out the window every so often!!!!

  • Sloops only sink fast if the crew forgets to fix the ship. Sloops are the hardest ships to sink in the seas. It is a 2 man ship but only one player can easily keep the ship alive during combat, adapt sails and steer. All that at the same time. (Could be kinda hard for some new players.) Your sloop can´t sink in 10 seconds with just 2 holes. Maybe u had some water or holes in there before or you are exaggerating.
The ship that sink´s the fastest is the Brigantine, with only one small Deck bellow it fills up with water the fastest. The galeon is a swimming fortress, but you can´t keep it alive solo if u take enough holes. The sloop has 2 Deck´s and u can keep it alive solo so ur mate can shot none stop at the enemy. When Rare buffs the sloop i´d rather do merchant quest´s in devils roar than attacking a sloop.

Brigantine: "So you think the sloop sinks fast huh? Hold my beer!"
