Using Chain Shots Against Skeleton Ships

  • With the introduction of the chain shot, I think it would be absolutely great to be able to destroy skeleton ships' masts. It could be already in the game and I just don't know it, but when I was versing a skeleton galleon and tried to use a chain shot on its mast, the shot just went right through it. Allowing players to take down the masts of skeleton ships would allow higher skill of play when versing a skeleton sloop or galleon. I think it would also push more players to try to beat the skeleton fleet (the cloud in the sky) because it would become more diverse combat than pelt the ship with all the cannon balls you have. It would allow higher skilled attacks to be made, such as crippling the ship so it can't move as easily and allowing players easier ways to beat the ships, but you would have to land the chain shot in order to have a chance of doing this. This alone would help mix up the combat with skeleton ships and make it a more interesting experience.

  • Honestly the fact they just go right through the mast is just another point for my argument of skeleton ships being a tedious anti-fun Mechanic

  • Yeah, feels like skeleton ships could use some work to be more fun than an annoying hazard. Did manage to solo a galleon, but it usually just depends on luck. Mostly if their cursed cannonballs are the worst kind or not. Anchorballs, and probably most of the ship effecting ones can basically be ignored in favor of sinking them before they sink you.
But the fact that they aren't effected by other sailing mechanics makes them rather unfun to try to deal with, and generally you aren't allowed to outrun them unless you can get them to steer around a big island.

  • @genocider-link Hey there, please note that resurrecting very old threads is not permitted. Please refrain from adding posts to threads older than 1 month old as this is considered necroing.

A warning will be issued and the thread locked. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

  • @cardshark-360

An auto lock feature would be very helpful for posts which have not been touched for over 30 days. I don't resurrect threads but have unknowingly or accidentally replied to some that have been.

  • @cardshark-360 i apologize as I did not know this, though I feel locking threads that haven’t been touched in over 30 days would be helpful for many people if you don’t want people replying or commenting on those threads out of unknowing or accidentally.
