Legendary Treasure Seeker Costume. A right step in the wrong direction.

  • The problem: While looking good overall, it takes away your pirate's personality in the process. Everyone who gets this is going to look exactly the same, save for body type/gender.

It changes your hair-style, you aren't allowed to apply eye-patches, hooks, or peg-legs. It's all or nothing, and should have been done slightly differently.

My proposal: Two "costume" sets. One for body, one for head. You can keep the great looking outfit and retain your hair and face cosmetics if you wish.

  • Yeah, as far as I see it, the one-piece costume is a flawed system.
If I understand, a tiny bit, the current clothing system has issues with how/where each clothing item area overlaps with one another. This one-piece option seems to be their way of accomplishing more layered, flowing options that don't run into the same issues.

However, obviously, it is a very bitter sweet trade-off.

They can have that gorgeous, hanging sash, and bandoleers... the coin purse on the back, not sure how many of those things would be possible with the normal clothing options.
Yet, the one-piece costume removes all ability to accessorize and mix-and-match - which completely spoils the PIRATE's very important sense of freedom and individuality.

Of course, it's only an option to wear, or not - but that's not the complaint. There's obviously been some significant work, time, and resources spent on developing this new player-character outfit tech - but at what cost? I doubt I am alone in wanting to see the original clothing system eventually include more options (and even new options - ideally jewelry, if nothing else) - but is that possible? And, if not, is the game going down a different road for future outfit options? I don't know, but I do know that I'm not a fan of the new one-piece costume. I jut hope it does not come at the cost of further additions (aplenty) and future developments/improvements/additions to the original clothing system.
