I'm pretty sure I saw a tweet regarding this where the devs replied
"I dont think the ferryman would be to happy with having weapons on board his ship"
Bit of a cop out excuse IMO

@ragnaroek196 ya know, I actually really like that idea.

@galactic-geek have them wrapped in magical ghost chains or hands when holding it out.

They could make it work if they wanted to. I personally would love being able to adapt after a death to try and avoid a repeat.

Well, allow bullets and swords but without damage, we are ghosts on the ferry, it would only make sense we can't physically hurt eachother hahah

Essentially yeah but like jolly said it would be to slow to change crews in game but I think an easy invunerable state is possible.

It was probably just easier to ban weapons on the ferry then try and code them so no damage takes place. Remember the ferry is still in the main World so the same rules probably apply.
