C’mon man! Every session, my character is reset to default cosmetics, my pet names all reset, my equipment and all my emotes reset to default every session. It’s beyond ridiculous now. I know I am not the only pirate afflicted by this glitch. I’ve seen the posts, it’s in your known issues as well. Just fix it already.
Can we please get a fix to the cosmetic reset glitch.
It's actually a hard cap on the total number of cosmetics you have equipped + the number of emotes you have equipped.
Each clothing or vanity item counts as 6 - 7 emote slots (remove an eyepatch and gain 6 emote slots)
If you are maxed, nothing you do will save (pet names, weapon skins, etc).
Currently the limit is 13 cosmetic items (13 total between clothing and vanity), which is also roughly 80 emote slots.
Best bet for now is to make sure you're at least 1 emote slot away from max, that way all your changes will remain.
I also hope Rare fixes this, as I only run 3 emote radials, but I own quite enough emotes to fill all 5 radials...
Try to fix ny this workaround.
Did it for me some month ago and is still working.Open chest, equip some random stuff, then switch to what you want to keep equipped, close the chest.

I hope this is a sarcastic answer🤣 Problem is my character resets to default every session. If it’s not sarcasm, the hell to they justify putting a cosmetic cap when the only progress in the game is cosmetic? If this was a new glitch I could understand but it’s been a couple of months now.@whyo I've done extensive testing on this, and I promise you it isn't sarcasm.
I think the cap was most likely either:
A. put in place initially due to concerns about hardware limitations
-or-
B. accidentally put in place (potentially a glitch) and not discovered due to the fact that there was only one emote radial, so no one hit the cap until the additional radials were created.
The good news is Rare knows about it, so hopefully they're working on it.
A quick note: I tend to stay away from sarcasm in a written setting like these forums, especially when talking about bugs or glitches.

@bactatankbill Would that explain why my settings keep changing? I was doing the FOTD and set my music volume down (It's soooooo loud) and after I finished I put the music sound back up but now whenever I start a game my music is set all the way down again.
Thing is I'm only running 34 emotes
This is strange, actually. Did you add any clothing or vanity items after turning it down, but before turning it up again?
Because if you were capped before you turned it down, it wouldn't save that state, but if you reached the cap after turning it down, before turning it back up, then that would explain it
