Pirate Factions (Flameheart!) and bounty hunting!

  • Part 1: So I know rare stated on a panel of a PvP based faction concept they are working on. I love this. And it does need to be done properly, as to not make people unhappy. I have cobbled together some ideas that have been floating around sot conversations. Bounty system. The ability to obtain a bounty for going against the ideals of the pirate lord.(or something) I don't have an exact basis on how to obtain this bounty but I have a good way to play it out. Once you have a bounty it only goes up until you have been claimed. Maybe after so many attempts on your life/crew you can claim it for yourself somehow. But for the hunters. This is where the fun begins. The tavern now has a whole now purpose. The bartenders will give tips to players on the whereabouts of the target only if they have passed by that outpost last or recently. There can be a list of players or crews ship names(cough) in the tavern and you must claim the bounty after the deed is done. If you don't then it goes unclaimed( whether it still builds or goes to 0 again) a new faction could be created through this as a way to reach PL. Or at least a new bilge rat adventure tab. Let me know your ideas and improvements to this. It's far from perfect but we can push it further.

    Part 2: so about flameheart... He seems to be gaining a following, not only among skeletons but among pirates. It would be awsome if we could pick a side between the pirate lord and flameheart. Maybe in a tall tale we get cursed and can pick a path with the pirate lord into one tunnel that takes us to the hideout or an equivalent place. Showing our loyalty to him and good piracy. Or. We take a tunnel into flamehearts lair and he gives us his will. A new faction system can go on for a month or even a few with a war between these two factions. Take the number of players in a server and divide them equally when matchmaking so its equal competition in the server. Players on 1 crew can choose diffrent paths than eachother and end up in different factions. Maybe cut the game chat until they return to their ship. Maybe add some recognisable semi curse to the flameheart followers so players can identify who is with who. They could try to cover it up with cosmetics. Maybe some commendations involve doing tasks with a whole crew of flameheart followers and same with pirate lord. The bounty system could have a special relationship with this war as well.
    P.s. players can switch sides at any point by playing the tall tale again and picking a new path. Maybe a 3rd neutral path. Idk

    Players have been semi divided already and it seems to be manifesting in game lore already so I believe this would be a great way to settle things on a fun in game system instead of bickering on the forums. This teaches people that there are so many ways to enjoy the game.
    Give me your ideas for part 1 and 2! I will respond to as many comments as I can. The bigger this thread the higher chance rare will see it! (Hopefully)
