The order of souls are experimenting with magic beyond even their own comprehension. They have used the memories from some of the fiercest pirate lords and made an incantation that forces some of the skeletons into servitude.
You will now rarely come across Order Of Souls skeleton ships, there to combat evil undead skeletons that plague the sea of thieves.
These ships will be hostile the standard skeleton vessels seen roaming.
They will also emerge randomly from the depths too but to help not to harm.
You will mainly see them however emerging for cinematic effect, spawning in basically to fight a distant spawning kracken.
Therefore kracken fights, megalodon fights etc happen without players and you can sail merrily watching action unfold between order of souls and other entities such as other skelly ships, krackens and megs.
You could even see an OOS ship and a normal skelly ship emerge, hinting at an epic underwater undead ship battle happening below and above the waves!! Think of maiden voyage, its essentially a trigger for cool action eye candy in the distance making the seas look more alive.
Now for bounties....
These Order of Souls do-gooding ships are still ships afterall.
These ships hunt other skelly ships so of course, laden with loot!
A ripe fat target. To budding pirates like us, they are kinda like that fat merchant ship we all swoon over.
Sinking one of the order of soul skeleton ships will make the order of souls post a bounty on you. These bounties are to be picked up by players who when they sink their ship get a reward.
So think of the Order of souls skeleton ship loot as a forbidden fruit. You can eat it but there will be dire consequences!
If you have a bounty on you, players arent notified of your exact position. However the bounty poster says “The ship was last sighted near ‘island name’ and 3pm /7pm, the time updates and location every few in game hours maybe 2-3 times per in game day.
This bounty system is fair because you attack it knowing the consequences.
The bounty remains live for a few in game days until it eventually disappears and are no longer wanted.
Now ship limit is an issue.
However lets assume this gets increases in future with new hardware or whatever / server capacity, do you think this would be a nice addition?
Would it make sense?
