Introducing Sea of Thieves News! Episode 1: February 2020

  • @bootmaclir "Because it's been around forever" is a terrible justification. You know what other forms of marketing have been around forever? Interrupting your entertainment every 30 minutes to watch 5 mins of ads! If you're here to play games you should be able to do that and only that without losing out on anything. Pushing people to jump through social media hoops isn't the grossest marketing move as long as the benefits are cosmetic only but its still a chore that's not fun and we shouldn't encourage it.

Anyway, that's off topic. The video is cool and not watching it doesn't remove content from the game so I'm happy!

  • @musicmee Do you think they are working on the Swordplay first then will work on the other weapons and ensure they are also balanced.

  • @stormyseadog 100% Sword first then the rest of combat will follow and as combat gets enriched things need tweaking!

  • @needsmokes Agreed more than info what we got was a streamer's stand up.

    • The other crew map table bug has been fixed!

Awww man...well so much for secret voyages.

  • @musicmee said in Introducing Sea of Thieves News! Episode 1: February 2020:

    • Pirate Appearance Potion will be added to the emporium! Allowing players to change their appearance without losing progress.

  • @v*ca-hombre Oh noooooo... you are changing your appearance? Maybe then we will be able to tag you!

  • @musicmee said in Introducing Sea of Thieves News! Episode 1: February 2020:

@schwammlgott Fixed it :D That was my fault on the wording! Appologies.

You have ruined my dream of not seeing a storm

  • @musicmee

    Change my appearance?

Absolutely. I'd love to take another crack at the Infinite Pirate Generator when I've got a spare 3 hours.

    Tag me?

Never. I'm like the wind, baby!

  • @theunionjames it's not a justification its a statement of reality. You accused Rare of using slimey tactics and I was explaining to you this is simply how marketing works. If you don't want the cosmetics then don't watch. it's that simple. If you want the cosmetics then you watch the stream. It's not trickery or under handed.

Things cost money to make to produce to develop to be sent to your screen for your entertainment. Advertising and such pays for that. Otherwise you would be shelling out a ton of cash for your entertainment. Nobody owes you entertainment for free.

  • Wish there were more details on what has changed with the cutlass. I'm dying to know!

  • News! SoT updates continue to be more of the same.

  • @boomtownboss Aye! MONTHLY! Good catch :)

  • @bootmaclir Free entertainment? What game are you talking about? Sea of Thieves is not free to play. If you pay for a game you should get to own that games content without being beholden to any further marketing chores. That’s how most games work. if most games worked your way I’d straight up stop playing them!

  • I enjoyed it. Much prefer this format if I am honest

  • @theunionjames I was responding to your comment about interrupting your entertainment every 30 minutes for 5 minutes of ads.

In regards to your latest comment I'm not sure where you've been but Twitch prime and the like is loaded with loot drops for all sorts of games. Most major online games nowadays have microtransactions at the very least. Expansion and DLC packs have been around forever. If you don't want the stuff then don't pay for it or "jump through hoops" if you can't be bothered then don't. Not sure why you are so up in arms about it. If it was that important you would go watch a stream for 15 minutes and go on about your day.

  • New update yeah :D
