I like the idea of the journals, I do. It adds to the worldbuilding and helps to flesh out a story.
My issue is the way they're spread out across the map, sometimes without any real clue as to where they are. This typically leads me, and I suspect others as well, to resort to finding some walkthrough online to find them all.
I suggest a couple things:
- Make the better reference each other; like a chain...journal 1 leads to journal 2 leads to journal 3 etc.
- Keep the text of each journal available all the time after they've been read. I found journal 2 but the quest didn't lead me to journal 3 this time. Next time I do it I won't remember what journal 2 said.
- Make the text of the journals more meaningful. One of the soulbound soul journals mentions where treasure is buried. This is cool; do something like this more.
Basically, help us find the journals in game, and give us a reason to track them down other than just the commendations.
