Please,
Can we have more spawn points on boats. Somebody can get on your boat and continually spawn kill you just for the fun of killing somebody. They repair your boat, take your food and resources, and kill you over and over just for the fun of killing you. We appreciate the option to scuttle from the Ferry, but if you have a valuable haul sometimes scuttling is not an option...Especially from the Ferry.
To me, getting shot in the back as soon as you spawn over and over takes the fun out of the game and from forums, I'm seeing quite a dissension in and disgruntlement among the masses over this issue.
I believe that if we had more spawn points on the boat, i.e. the front of the boat, the crows nest... this could help alleviate the issue.
Thank you for your time and the awesome game! Keep doin what you do!
Spawn points on boats
If it isn't worth scuttling than that means you are not willing to give up. If your haul is worth it, than keep trying and maybe you stand a chance. The choice is yours, I get the sentiment not to scuttle... I'm one stubborn pirate to say the least.
Additional spawn points aren't going to solve the issue with spawning, as the issue is they can see you while we still have a black screen, which with a little bit of variety on assuming a sloop isn't going to make a big difference.
I understand and somewhat agree with your issues with the current system. Just dont think your solution is effective.
I also think it is more than needed. We need more spawn point please. The problem is huge, especially in sloop arena.
It would clearly solve the problem, no doubt about it. From my experience there s only 2 spawn point on the sloop in arena, behind the wheel or behind the mast. So if a good double gunner stand on the back of the sloop ( even if you have a very good computer and the game installed on M.2) you don t stand a ghost of a chance.
There should at least be two more spawn points below deck: one next to the map table and one somewhere next to the vanity chest. There are already 4 spawn points, if I am not mistaken, on a sloop:
- Below deck
- In front of the map table
- On deck near the mast
- Near the helm
The issue is that people can spot your spawn point before you are actually in the game and actually engage in combat.
How would more spots on a sloop make any difference? Well one in the crowsnest might add a little bit of options, but still would not provide a proper solution.
@cotu42
In the 200+ matches I did in arena lately, while dying on my sloop I never spawned somewhere else than behind the wheel or the mast.
Using a mermaid sometimes puts you in those other places though.
Spawning below deck or next to the map table when you died on your sloop would definitely fix that problem..I have not done a lot of Arena, but doubt it is any different than the ship in Adventure mode and I have a lot of experience with death and killing on the sloop since launch.
There is for sure spawn points below, do keep in mind that I also believe that if pirates occupy the area the game will not place you there to avoid placing a pirate inside a pirate.
There's only 4 on sloop 3 of which on top deck. More spawn locations isn't going to stop spawn killing but honestly on a sloop we could use more. Multiple times I've spawned top deck just to be insta blundied to the back but as soon as I spawn below deck all of a sudden I'm able to turn the flow off the battle. Obviously if more than 1 is on your boat camping they can cover top and bottom.
I get that you don't want to scuttle, but its quite clear you lost. Take a step back and realize that they are in full control of this situation. All that time of killing you and ferrying over your supplies demonstrates that they have the capability to sink you at any moment. This is no longer in your control, you have been completely defeated and are at their mercy.
Accept defeat and scuttle. It doesn't matter if you have a valuable haul, you have lost, accept it.
@nabberwar Actually, that's not true at all. My team and I have fought our way out of a spawn trap on many occasions.
I can understand spawn trapping until your enemies ship sinks. But to keep somebody's boat afloat just so you can keep killing them over and over again adds nothing to the game. This isn't team death match. The only reason people do this is to make themselves feel superior because they can shoot you in the back before you are fully spawned in.
I have boarded many enemy boats and killed and killed until the enemies boat is sunk. There is no reason for griefing though.@wilbymagicbear Ahoy matey!
Be careful where ye be postin' Insider related content... savvy?
I have edited your post to remove the offending content!
@oneoufanatic most people do it for supplies, so they can ferry supplies over to their boat. not to grief
I’ve always thought the spawns should be out of barrels on sloop or barrels and hatches on brig and galleon.
You spawn in and look through the crack or peep hole in the barrel or hatch. Once your fully loaded you have up to five or ten seconds to choose to jump out. At which time you’ll automatically jump out.
This would give a spawning playing the chance to actually load into the game world and allow them to get a quick bearing on the area in front of them.
Just a thought instead of a spawn immunity.
