The German translation of the game is very frustrating! Also there needs to be a convenient way to switch the games language to tackle this problem.
I've got frustrated over this many times while playing this amazing game. In a lot of cases the riddles are translated poorly, sometimes impossible to solve, because of blatant errors in translation of the meaning. Cleary the translator didn't know what he was translating, using the wrong words. In other cases there are a lot of spelling errors, cut-off texts, untranslated parts of the text and omitted words. Its a constant thing in this game. I fear Rare doesn't know about the state of the game in German. The German versions quality is much worse than the English one.
It's impossible to list all the errors and imperfections of the translation throughout the game, but I want to share an example of the German translation for you, I recently screenshotted:
- Some part of the text is just cut-off on the left side
- the caption on the right side is cut off at a crucial part and is also spelled incorrectly ("verlorenene" instead of "verlorene")
- There are two more typos on the right side "Skeltette" and "Captian".
I never made a screenshot of a misleading riddle translation, but this happens too often too. The usual fix for me as a player is to look up the English original on the internet to solve the riddle, which is killing immersion.
To make things worse, its almost impossible to change the games language to English. The usual way is to change the language of Windows 10 (which is a pretty big investment for a game) and reinstall the game, which worked for me once, but it resetted to German at some point even though the OS was still English.
Please, Rare, install a better translation process or hire a better translation service or at least give us a reliable option to switch back to English.
