I really really have a problem with the game doing this. In this video is a good example of a crew getting outplayed and the game holding their hand and I cannot understand why this is a thing. I think once a ship is officially sunk, players should not back spawn on their ships location. They lost and it should be as such. To pull off a 200IQ play in a 1v3 just for the game to hand them a free win is so frustrating. Please, fix the spawn system.
Fix back spawning please.

That guy streaming walked right into that. He played bad and the other crew played smart.

I love watching sheep get PWND. Mr. "Let's Go" should learn how to protect loot, if he is going to try and take it.

People have been playing SoT for ~over 2 years and you still can't figure out he made a bad decision, so you want the game to change? Take a loss and learn from it.

AWESOME work on the winning crew all spawning back together!

Looks like they all waited until they could spawn together to maximise their chances against you. Risky play with the ship sinking but it worked out. Take your L like a man!
Their L came when they were all dead and the ship sank. Game being broken is the problem.
"Risky play with the ship sinking"
NAY. They had no "play" They were all dead when the ship was officially in it's sinking phase, and once that phase is officially underway, and the players on that ship are dead, they should not back spawn on location. It's a broken mechanic. If you are on the Ferry Of The Damned, and your ship has sunk while you are in there, it should be game over. That is fair balanced play. They did not spawn on the ship. They just spawned right in the water. Makes no sense. And people in here making things up to push a fake idea of what happened is pretty hilarious.

Again, nope. After the ship has officially sank, the spawn system should send them elsewhere. All 3 of them were at Ferry Of The Damned when the ship had officially sunk. That should be the standard loss of a crew. Back spawning in a problem that needs to be fixed. It literally makes no sense. No game should hold players hands.

I don’t know the whole story so I can only comment on the video.
I don’t call tucking and using a TN from their crows nest outplaying them.
Tucking is cheap and if successful would have ruined their voyage
I’m glad they all back-spawned and hope they rowed all their loot back to the outpost.
If your ship sinks and you're all dead you've been outplayed. Period. You should never spawn on location after your ship has sunk and you are already dead. That's like dying in an FPS and respawning behind the player who just killed you. Makes no sense and is broken
@sandaledpond889 It's not a random lottery at all of who gets a good spawn or not. If you have a SSD, the black loading screen doesn't load forever. It only takes ~5 seconds. So, it's not the game's fault - it's your own hardware limitations that aren't helping you.
@sandaledpond889 Besides, hardware, the only other factors that I see are your own networking speeds and maybe the server itself. With the former, mine's about as terrible as it can get without going wireless (6mbps down and only 1 mbps up - which is very close the bare minimum for gaming on XBL), and I still get the 5-second average I told you about previously with my SSD the moment I go through the Ferry's door. As for the latter, it doesn't really matter, since we're all on the same server anyways - if it affects me, then it's probably affecting everyone else on the same server too, especially if they're close together and interacting with one another.
@drbullhammer what I've noticed since upgrading from 7200rpm to ssd is that the load times are faster (obviously) and the chance of getting a random absurdly long respawn is lowered.
Not eliminated however, as I have had an infinite black screen since the upgrade. In general, respawns are consistent within the same hardware configuration.
back spawns are almost always a thing brother the only way to avoid them which is much easier with a full crew helping you is making sure to kill them all RIGHT before their ship sinks. As mentioned before I think you should have grabbed DG (EoR/Flint and ditched blundy while in the water to be ready for back spawns. It's just the nature of the game and crews usually get 1 back spawn (in adventure) after a ship sinks unless you kill them all right before the ship actually sinks. Is this frustrating ? sure it can be but you gotta remember it's going to happen because once someone is on the ferry and goes through the door before their ship sinks they spawn on their merm that's why it's best to stay on the merm if you are in doubt they won't get a respawn.
@drbullhammer Nope. Once you hear that sound that alerts you that the ship has officially sunk it should be over.,
@wickeddeath #1. The L was made when they were all dead and the ship sunk. This sounds like a geek excuse to me.
