Windows 7

  • So you still think I'm going to pay 25$+139$ to play this game? I would actually be ok with that if I could keep using Windows 7. If Half-Life: Alyx is released as Windows 10 exclusive I will blame Rare.

Can you please release the game for Windows 7 already?

  • Windows 7 is due to reach End Of Life mid-January of 2020.

Why should they support it, especially when Microsoft was offering free upgrades for the longest time?

Supposedly it is still free in some ways.

Bleeping Computer Article on Free Upgrade

    1. I decide when my things are EOL.
    2. Because I'm the customer?
    3. Supposedly?
  • @viscosepenguin5 You should go back and re-read the agreement you the "customer" signed and agreed to when you decided to use Windows 7. Your voluntary exchange of money for the software product came with strings attached, including the fact you dont get indefinite support of the product from said vendor.

    1. No, you decide when you want to upgrade but Windows 7 is going to stop getting updates in less than a month. Windows 7 is EOL regardless of what you say. The people who develop/sell a product are the ones who choose that.
It would be absurd for Microsoft/Rare to dedicate resources towards a product no longer being supported.
    2. The customer is definitely not always right. You are drunk if you think you as a single customer have any power here.
"I demand Microsoft release Sea of Thieves on Xbox 360" See how silly that sounds?
    3. In about 30 seconds of Googleing I can find ten different sources on how to currently upgrade from Win7 to Win10 for free and legally. Spend a few seconds doing it and you'll be upgraded on a faster OS.

You're going to blame one game studio owned by Microsoft for another game being released by a different studio not owned by Microsoft?
Might as well blame Netflix releasing Stranger things on Netflix only as the reason The Mandalorian is only on Disney +.
Also, I guess you better start blaming Rare as they are already stating you need Win10.

    System Requirements
    MINIMUM:
    OS: Windows 10
    Processor: Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600
    Memory: 12 GB RAM
    Graphics: GTX 1060 / RX 580 - 6GB VRAM

Additionally, the game requires the Xbox app from the Microsoft Store which is only supported on Windows 10. I seriously can't tell if you're just trolling or not.

  • windows 7? an operating system that runs out of support? 😄 come on, update and enjoy the ultimate windows, windows 10.
