I know that you probably hear this about a thousand times a day, but it's really important and I think that you guys should more so consider it and make it public that you're doing so. Over the course of the past few weeks, I've heard hundreds of PL10's say they are thinking of quitting the game due to ZERO content and ZERO Christmas themed 'daily gifts' for them. Not to mention that they want a way to change their character without resetting everything. There's been, I think 9 days of gift giving? And it's ALL been catered to new players and NOT the damn people who are literally the base of your game. I know that no one of importance will read this article and actually do something about it, you'll peruse over the first few lines and laugh, but If you keep ignoring and disrespecting you day/year one players, then you'll just have a sloppy base of noobs that don't respect the game or its other players. I suggest that you do SOMETHING for you day one players before you lose us all and than eventually the game.

@itz-majman he is not the only one, i also have heard the same thing from alot of people
All the newly added content is cool but the calander of giving REALLY shows that they are not thinking about the ones that have done it all, the ones with millions in the bank, 10’s of thousands of doubloons and most if not all commendations complete.
To me these days of giving are entirely worthless and so are they for most crews i role with:
- We have all factions to lvl 50
- Each of us has between 5m and 30m gold in the bank
- each of us has between 5k to 15k doubloons in the bank
This means double rep and double gold/doubloons are meaningless to us and that goes for basicly 3-4 discord servers i am a part of which all have alot of people in it. These days of giving along with all the content has never been geared specifically to PL’s not to mention PL A10’s.
Me personally, i have 5m gold and 15k doubloons and i have literally all cosmetics (including all time limited ones) in the game apart from 10 or so i need to unlock from a few commendations.
And while i do enjoy most if not all the content they brought to the seas the options for me to actually achieve something is drying up faster then they are delivering and i dont even play daily
I'm Pirate Legend, Athenas 6 or around, and I havn't done an Athenas voyage for more than 8 months. And if I tell u all the truth any of my friends feel like playing this game nowadays. I usually play with my gf to get the monthly commendations but it gets even tiring and annoying...
Everyone seems tired of doing the same thing over and over again. Even me, who I've been defending this game and trying to convince my friends to play again trough all this last year, but... gues what? Didn't worked.Also the decisions Rare are choosing to improve the game... Doesn't convince much. They said this game was all about cosmetics, but then they also realeased the pirate emporium for pets, emotes and then "other cosmetics". So you have a game based on cosmetics, that makes u do the same thing over and over again, making u feel like a delivery man in the seas, to just farm gold for nothing. Because then, they just realease re-colours and 3 new cosmetics for the new Black Market... Really?? Dude, this is the second year of life of the game, and people is still killing between them arguing about limited time cosmetics.
And do you know why is it that? It's because the lack of everything, you dont have anything fresh in this game, It always feels the same. Realease 900 new cosmetics so people dont give a **** about limited time cosmetics. It's cool to have limited time cosmetics, but, come on... you create a game based in cosmetics and you realease always the same. Nothing feels like improving.
And EVEN ME, the one that have to play alone to get the monthly commendations, Im really thinking if those monthly voyages area really worth my time. Im not even hyped anymore to see what's new in thoose seas. They really need to charge their batteries and start adding all the missing things this game needs.
Idk what do you think, guys, about this... but do you really think the fire needed to take all that long to be realeased...? It's a feature that should have been realeased since launch. Not by year 2, but seeing we dont even have cosmetics at this point, Im just not even impressed. Im really dissapointed. Just left this words as a way to leave my opinion in this. I can be wrong, but thats what I'm starting to think as a player and as a costumer.

They're a company that has to market to new consumers, especially during the holidays, in order to continue to thrive. Idol threats from experienced players don't scare them because they've already roped you in and gotten your $$$. Why would they waste resources on the likes of you? What would they gain that they haven't already received. Stop being such an entitled little...
@daringclarky How about a Pirate Legend only week. For example; the Week of Megalodons (Not the day of Megalodons because if they do it on a certain day my work life might have me miss it). If Day of Megalodons does happen don't make the last day a better chance to get a Ghost Meg. Have it the whole week. Hell, the Season of Giving should have included a much larger chance to encounter a Shrouded Ghost Megalodon. That's one commendation I may never get. :( Other ideas might be; double the actual cargo/animals/thing turned in. I am not suggesting having a Pirate Legend get 20 pigs, for instance, but 5 pigs, turns in as 10 pigs. Or come to some other reasonable multiplier. More chances at getting Ancient Coins. Why? The doubloon is now flooding the economy. Which is sad because I saw doubloons as something rare to find. But sadly, one of these days somebody is going to screen shot 1 million doubloons.
As for what everybody else has said, I agree. Double the Reputation? I'm 50/50/50/50/50/Creator Crew (Still trying to get most)/10.
The one thing is that this game keeps everybody on an even level; which I like. I played other games that gave you better gear to do more damage, effects, or other types of things and while fun it gets kind of annoying so I hope this game doesn't veer away from that.
And finally, stop having commendations that have us steal or trade stuff.. I'm sure a lot of other players get some small chance to do so. But I never seem to come across anyone willing to trade gifts/boxes of rags (Well once)/Athena chests.
Other than being an Emote Hoarder, with the exception of getting the Admiral emotes, that sitting position turns me off. The character is on their knees hands behind their back. Not a comfortable position to be sitting in. More like a position to be cowering down to somebody before they driver their blade through them. Ugh! But I digress.
Come up with something for us Pirate Legends. And please don't make it 2-4 hours to complete. On a good day.
@chewbaccalaca I think that what they should of done is given PL's different voyages than the others. For the OoS and GH voyages I put them down but didn't really think they would be worth it so I ditched them. They should of given higher tier versions of the ones they gave out to Pl, such as a PL OOS being 3 islands with 4 captains a piece et cetera. They could of at least done double gold for Pl instead.

To be fair Rare themselves said “when you become pirate legend the game only just begins” and that has been a lie for almost 2 years now.
Yes i enjoy the content bring out but the PL (a10) gameplay is simply lacking.
There are player nowadays with all the added options that become PL in less then a week!!
Most of their initial update plans have been brought out but one that is still lacking is the “captaincy” update which was promised before release.
Again not about elitism more about a lack of vision or so it seems beyond the initial gameplay of “get at least 3 factions to 50”
And thus you can se it failing with events around the end of this year with the calander of giving which is usefull but not for that increasing playerbase that has reached the endgame:
- double rep doesnt work for athena and is useless for players that have completed all the factions
- double doubloons is useless for players with 1000’s of doubloons
- double gold is useless for players with millions of gold
If we use (the heavily skewed) statistics of XBL achievements:
- 1.42% of the playerbase have become pl
- 1.47% have reached merchant lvl 50
- 1.58% have reached gold hoarder lvl 50
- 1.47% have reached order of souls lvl 50
If we hold into account that only 70.94% have ever eaten a banana and 66.74% have ever set sail (so sailed away from their initial spawn island) it means that at least 1/3 rd of the entire playerbase that SoT ever had can be disregarded completely.
Then there is the simple mathemetics that only 43.27% of all players have ever completed a gold hoarder voyage and only 31.96% of all players that ever played this game even bought a a promotion in a company (meaning they reached level 5 in them). It almost means you can only count 1/3rd of all players that ever played.
Lets say (just saying a number to visualize stuff) 100m players ever played this game that would mean the following:
- only 71 million have ever eaten a banana
- only 67 million have ever raised their anchor and dropped their sails
- only 43 million have ever completed a gold hoarders voyage
- only 32 million have ever bought a promotion in any faction (meaning they reached level 5 in any company)
- 1.4 million players have become pirate legend
More calculations could be made from the achievements ranging from easy to hard to achieve...
@chewbaccalaca I agree with this post. I got PL 10 within the first 3-4 months of the game. What does that mean? (besides no-lifing the game early since I was streaming) That means I missed out on taking my time till they released commendations and get all of those done at the same time. Did my 100+ Athena voyages, steals, miles, etc. carry over when the commendations came out? No.
They've always catered to the casual players more than the hardcore and I feel like it'll always be that way. That goes for any game, tbh. It's sad but true. I just hope we get rewarded some way or another in the near future.

Hundreds? Really? Hundreds? In just a few weeks you have spoken to HUNDREDS of PL10s who all are on the point of quitting, but at the time they spoke to you, had not yet done so? But, were about to... any day now. And every one of these HUNDREDS of PL10s, whom you happened to be speaking with, ALL felt compelled YOU they were on the point of leaving, and why? Really?
Such blatent exaggeration nullifies your entire argument. You might have a point in there somewhere, but I stopped reading when I got to that bit. I would not be surprised if that were the point you lost Rare's interest too.
Dude new players aren’t playing this game so your topic doesn’t make a point for me. There is no content for everyone for what i care and i logged on the game just once during these 12 days of gifts just to get them stolen by a PL “who had nothing to do” so all this events are a joke for everyone imo

It's all about trying to attract new players into the game during the holiday period.
You, I and others have been here and done it all already. One day they might extend the game for legends, they might not.
