Why aren't there ashen key voyages anymore and how do I get them now?
How do I get ashen keys in the festival of giving update?
@pithyrumble this is confirmed. Managed to catch some yesterday and today. Quite rare though, so not something to rely upon for farming purposes.
@BigtimeDuke8 Ashen Chest's contain the Tomes of Power. You can get Ashen Chests by defeating a Ashen Fleet which guarantee's 3 of them. Ashen Guardians randomly spawn on islands which will drop a riddle for one. Skull Forts will guarantee at least one. There is also a possibility of a Meg, Kraken, or Skelly Ship dropping them. So those are the options and it depends on your playstyle and if your solo or in a group as some are easier in a group. As always you must have the Ashen Keys to unlock any of the Ashen Chests. Also as a side note the Ashen Chest can contain Tome of Curses as well so you may not always get a Tome of Power.
I agree with the OP, what is a reliable way to acquire the keys. Understanding Chests are available from a myriad of options, I have yet to find a guaranteed key solution. I never heard of the fishing option, but without the Key voyages I have only found them at random from Key Guardians on islands.
Don't get me wrong, I may actually like them being more difficult and rare to acquire, but for my own efficiency of time I am curious if a better solution exists other than luck and small island pit stops.
@xxxrookxxx The only reliable way that I've found so far is to do the forts. You are guaranteed to get an Ashen Key Master spawn after the first captain who will always drop a key.
Outside of that, you are relying on RNG emergent spawns and fishing for keys.
