I still need the book of tomes 1 and 5 and I cant believe i actually may not complete these before tomorrow. Sad I know, but I am having the hardest time with these quests. I get the guardian legends quest, I get the key quests, spend an hour or two and nothing. I get the same book. I have also had some bl along the way. For example a skelly sloop rammed me and apparently had a gun powder on deck which I cannoned, blew up both boats and set myself on fire, lol. Anyways... any tips to go and complete the limited time commendations? Am I missing something here?
Having the Hardest Time With Ashen Quests
Here is what I would do. Do a bunch of key quests and get 6-8 keys. Go to an outpost and buy the voyage that cost doubloons. It will always be on the outpost to dig up the chest.
@picklebeard22 yeah... that's the way to go. Honestly didnt know I could purchase the quest with dabloons... thought it was gold only. Guess I dont keep up with things as much as I use to. Thanks!
@acebead40319154 I think he is mistaken on that, there are only the ones that cost gold if my memory serves me correctly - which is what you thought. I do not remember there being any quest that cost doubloons this time around.
I need two as well (III and IV), but so far have had only one repeat on the Tomes. But I haven't concentrated much on them as of yet due to my playing time constraints, some bad luck myself before figuring out the optimum strategy and focusing more on getting gold for the inky kraken stuff. But the best strategy I found was to first get the keys, then try to get the chests - since I have been doing them solo I've resorted to the sniper, cannon and molotov strategies to keep the guardians active and keeping alive - but you probably already know this. I'll be getting on tonight after Crisis on Infinite Earths to try to mop them up.
And are these really time limited anyway? I don't think they are, just will be more difficult to obtain after this event is over as I haven't seen that little clock in the corner they started using to designate time limited commendations.
