The servers for Oceania Adventure are alright where players can get around 50-80ms however it could be better. Arena however is aweful, I enjoy the game mode but for a game that is centred around PvP I wish there were OCE server. I am yet to find a lobby where I get less than 200ms. All of the servers are based in either Europe or America it seems like. It makes PvP almost impossible as hit registration issues, rubberbanding and other issues make the game mode unplayable for anyone in OCE. I've come accross some forum posts from as far back as May this year about this issue.
Oceania Arena Servers
Agree, its really bad. Those weapons tied to wins and kills in arena are basically not available in oceania. Coupled with the fact that you walk up the stairs 3 times and get blundered by the guy still on the ladder, due to lag and rubberbanding, its really not much fun.
The best we can hope for is a deadly crew that does all the fun stuff, while you patch holes and trim the sails...you cant even fast dig or fast swim in bad servers. Cmon already rare!
@athenaontwitch mate its not that they dont have oceanic servers, its that the gamemode isnt populated enough. have you not played any other online games, us oceanic players always get pood on with our low playerbase : (
but arena itself is struggling to survive even on the servers it places us on.
what they need to do is make it so there is only one arena option EG duo sloops, and make that swap weekly or daily with galleons that way the playerbase of an already dead gamemode doesnt get split in 2
@athenaontwitch also lag doesnt effect hit reg, lag effects the players movements though wich can make it impossible for you to hit them or make it look like you hit them when you dont. and you say that it makes pvp almost impossible but that isnt true, im Australian and i play on these 250 ping servers and am still able to solo pvp that ship untill they sink. it definately is harder, cause i will miss more shots that usual, but i still win.
@surveyorpete i think that would just stop non oceanic players from playing, and there still wouldnt be enough oceanic players on the servers for a game to start
