Can someone please explain how to join a crew using the Xbox overlay in Win10?

  • I've been trying for hours to get this thing to work and actually join a crew. Do I need to have the Xbox app running also? Do I need to have the game loaded already, or does it need to be off? After I reply to a LFG post, what do I do? I FINALLY got a notification in the notification center, clicked it, and ... nothing happened.

Never have I have a multiplayer game be this freaking hard to join and play with others. I'm about ready to just give up and find something else to play.

  • @elusivemako do you want to join a friend in your friendlist? Just open his/her profile, you should have the option there to join...

  • I was trying to use the xbox overlay (windows key + G) LFG feature. I would reply to LFG posts, but nothing would seem to happen after that.

I had notifications on in the overlay, but found out they were off in the Windows Xbox app. After setting notifications on there, I replied to a LFG post and did get a windows notification, but clicking on it didn't seem to do anything.

I did try discord, but they only seem to want PL who have been playing since beta who want to tuck and fort steal. Plus, I have never used discord before either, so not entirely sure how to use that either.

I spent a good 3 hours Saturday trying Open Crew, which resuled in 0 hours spent sailing. Sunday I spent about 4 hours in discord/xbox overlay trying to find a crew, which resulted in 0 hours spent sailing. At this point, I'm pretty much resigned to just continue solo slooping occasionally, and finding another game to play with others.

  • @elusivemako yes it’s a pain you gotta ask the people on LFG to inv then it will pop up in the notification bar.
But I agree could be better.
