So I was doing FOTD yesterday and I killed a ship who had all the treasure. And I was feeling a little troll. So I quickly made a video and edit of me killing them and sent it to them. The next day I try to get on xbox and my parents say you cant play today. I ask why. They said When I play Sea of Thieves I act "Like a jerk, I lie to other crews, and I steal treasure" I try to explain to them that it is a pirate game, and Its called Sea of THIEVES. I can no longer play Sea of Thieves because... I am A Pirate

@captain-narwha1 To be honest, you were acting "like a jerk" by sending that taunting video so your parents were right in that sense. If you cannot see it, then think about it while you are taking a time-out from the game imposed by your parents. You should actually be thankful that you have parents that want to teach you something about sportsmanship and manners so you don't grow up to be a jerk.

I applaud your parents for taking disciplinary actions when they do not like how you treat other people, as that is what they are supposed to do. This is what I would call good parenting.
There is nothing worse than the winner needing to gloat and rub it in someone else's face. Imagine someone doing it to you? You have to understand that when you beat a pirate it is another person, who is already not happy they lost. No need to be mean, trolly or toxic about it.
Good luck with your negotiations with your parents to get back on the seas, hopefully you are a little bit nicer next time you win in a game.

and even to make clips to taunt ppl. i get messages every now and then from ppl saying or teasing me in some way. idc its just a game. as long as there's nothing like against terms racist/sexual/this kinda thing
the other day someone sent me a clip of them sniping me on their helm after i knocked them in the sea and emote taunted them. was awesome. he did a great shot. i still won the arena match ;) but it was cool.
I say to you all lay off the kid for a video clip and let him pirate on.. tho.... its his parents discretion haha so sorry in the end kiddo. just sneak on late at nite and there will be a crew waiting to take you in despite your dirty deeds.

You're lucky you only got "banned" by your parents. This looks like a clear violation of the "Pirate Code" and is probably the most perfect example of griefing. Lieing in game to steal loot is one thing. But messaging them taunt videos is too far IMO.

Well, my Young Pirate , i think that your Parents are okay with the fact that you steal, betray and kill Pirates but i think the fact that you send them videos towards your "enemies" comes over to your Parents as humiliating the " enemy"...Don't be angry , i have been young too ( * When dinosaurs still walked the Earth) and i know that winning is adictive and it releases alot of goodfeel, certainly if the victory wasn't expected ...But....Humiliating or pushing the 'enemy" by the nose in the defeat is not honorable...What your Parents are trying to do is to teach you that you can win from someone , but you can't drag them through dirt for it...Older Pirates will maybe agree with me, when we are young we think we can own the world, we are indestructable, fast and strong as we are in our prime, and yes we do have hurted people with our words...People , we later need , to pick us up again as God, Fate , Coincidense has beaten us to the ground...Then you realize you were wrong , and are very happy and grateful they have set aside your taunting and stick out their hand to help you ...If that happens ,only 1 percent will spit towards the helping hand , but you can categorize them as being stupid...
Don't be angry at your Parents , i will call them very Good Parents as they teach you values that you are going to need in later life...i know it's a game , and there is nothing wrong with a victory but celebrate it for yourself and leave the taunting out of it...Today they were your enemies but maybe tomorrow they can be yer crewmates , but a crewmate that remembers an old grudge won't work as hard as a crewmate that never minded the loss as he wasn't humiliated in his or her core...
Just keep sailing , and playing but have more honour towards the " enemy" , you never know what it's good for , later on...

I agree with you. Just because you steal treasure from other pirates doesn´t make you a bad player. I mean the game is called Sea of Thieves for a reason. Although you didn´t had to sent that video and you didn´t had to act like a jerk. I mean we all sometimes wanna show that we won and let others appreciate our work. But there´s a difference between "You put up a good fight but maybe next time partner" and "Oh look at you! you lost to me! ofc you lost because im so much better than you in this game!" There´s difference between enjoying the victory and being toxic. Try to play for example For Honor or League of Legends. That´s toxicity out there. And I think that such a beautiful game doesn´t deserve toxic players.
I realize How I was acting like a jerk to that one guy I killed and sent him an edit, but what I forgot to say that when I killed him and sunk him, he said and I quote "You suck at this F ing game, You should uninstall because im better then you." He said that when we were both on the Ferry of the Damned. Sorry that I was being toxic, I just wanted to get back at that one guy.
@ajm123 Now I do Agree That 80% of the people who play this game are 18+, but im 13 and a PL9, I even know a kid who is 9 years old who doesn't know how to read or write. I understand what you're saying though.
