Pets alert when other players are on your boat

  • Thinking it would be good if your pet would alert the crew if someone boards your ship. Like a monkey hops up and down ans makes noises or throws bannas at person if the person hides on your boat, a parrot squawks etc. Giving the pet a role then just cosmetics and only alerts you every 30 secs or something. Pets would be more in demand then as well.

  • Now while I do like that idea it would be a huge advantage for people who have the spare money to spend on the game I have a couple of pets but I don't like the thought of people having to spend more money to have an advantage

This is my main issue as well. Granted, that could be adjusted by simply letting all players have a pet with a basic skin. Any other pet skins cost money as now. Then the pet itself isn't pay to win, everyone has the tool and it can then have in game functionality, and it still leaves them essentially Emporium exclusive as all skins would be available there for real money. Then you just pay to make that one item of your arsenal look spiffy.

This same plan could be taken with other stuff for the game as well. You pick a series of tools and lock up all the cosmetics for those items in the Emporium.

Might give them more wiggle room to do interesting stuff.

  • That would be called P2W buddy

  • @saltydreads they cant do that, cause it would then make the game pay to win

  • I agree with the p2w point, but they already tell you when a skelly is near. Also if a cannon being fired from an island is skelly (screams) or human (no reaction) I think they should react to both. Not have different reactions mind you, just react to both.

  • This would ruin the whole point of tucking.

  • There are already plenty of ways to find someone on your ship. Mermaid, swimming sounds, gasping for air, coming up from diving, etc all these have very noticeable sounds. Pay attention and you'll be fine. Confused why everyone wants to make the game play it for them. Next people will want to add an auto sail mode where they can sleep and their character will sail around.
