Two things, just in case you are not aware:

if you have Amazon Prime, that includes Twitch Prime. You just need to link your Amazon to your Twitch account, and then to Sea of Thieves.

if 1. doesn't apply, there is also a Twitch Prime free 7-day trial on offer at the moment, which it will show you if you go to get this drop. Just do that and cancel it immediately (you'll find a link to your account to do so in the email they send out).

Aye there is a catch need to manually cancel the free trial or you get a bill for automatic membership following the free trial 🧐

Claimed mine last night as soon as it went live. No issues claiming it, it was really easy.
Kind of wish the full hull was purple as I don't think it looks too good on the sloop, but the sails go nicely with the kraken hull anyway so I'll use that instead!Love my little purple monkey, just called him Twitch for now.

Another exclusive set of items. Couldn't you guys at least give people a way to earn things in game after the fact? Slap a premium price tag on the ship set or something? Feels like most ship sets the base game gets are overpriced recolours these days with original sets being limited to the emporium or promotions.
Should also mention that I don't care to have these items thrown after me, it would be way more interesting to find a new set at the shipwrights and work towards it, than every new promo set becoming the new default set for new players.

It kind of is. They are hoping for a number of things:
- most people will forget to cancel.
- some people will try out Prime Video, because it's free for a time, and get hooked.
- they're collecting some data on the linked accounts, which is useful to them.
- it's an in-game advertisment for Prime.
1 the emporium sets are commemorations to RARE heritage games (banjo and kazooie, killer insting and perfect dark
2 the promotional sets of which we have 3 now (Halo, Gears of War and Twitch) are done with partners and colored/styled for them apart from the twitch one none of them where premium and even the twitch one is free for those who dont have prime (since its at least 7 dats free) or also free for people who already and are using twitch/amazon prime
Yes they have done recolours, you wanna know why ? Because people where complaining about the original time limited sets and their inavailability, instead of stabbing the “og’s” in the back they gave recolours for everyone so the original time limited items stayed original.
And apart from that they have been making a real effort to complete alot of old sets that where missing parts, both in clothes AND ship parts

What do you mean with premium in this context? The prime set really only is free for people who use prime anyways. Can't expect people to not have used their free trial at some other point.
And besides that there isn't really an explaination on why Rare doesn't keep those sets in the game to get through another way after the promotion is done. Apart of course for their tiresome idea of making most additions exclusive, which in my eyes only hurts the game. Same with them raising the expectations that past event sets would never reutrn to begin with. Nice way to exclude a whole catalouge from an increasing amount of players.
The whole thing about all those cosmetics being somehow better because others can't have them is petty af.But yeah, credits to them for making an effort to complete old sets now. Also some of the clothes look nice. Though it's weird that some people will now be able to get the ashes cannons etc but never have a chance at the first half of the set.

You complained about the emporium cosmetics thats why i brought that up...On your twitch prime part, no they cant but us players can also be smart and just use a dummy email account (hotmail/gmail etc accounts are set up in seconds) and link that to claim it, you can then use a free period again
For the people that can now purchase the ashen sets, in the future their will be a recolour for the og ashen set

Is there just a trial for free within amazon prime? Because it said something about 30 days for free and then about 7 Euro monthly...did I understand something wrong there?
@schwammlgott You should just be able to sign in with your Amazon account to Twitch and it will notice you have Amazon Prime?
@musicmee There is definitely a bug here though that I still can't get around.
When I try to connect my Amazon .co.uk account to Twitch it tries to connect to Amazon .com and as such it then throws an exception and won't make the connection.I tried to use my credentials on the US version of the site and activate a trial of prime there, but that, as you know started a 2 hour long battle of the wits with Amazon to have it cancelled as that did nothing as well!
I can't be the only person annoyed that their Prime membership isn't working to redeem this item? I have Prime, I should therefore be OK to have Twitch Prime, but sadly "computer says no"...
@musicmee I did, I already got the stuff too, but I want to know if it costs extra, or did I understand something wrong...?
@sshteeve yeah, this is weird...on mine it also says "test prime", but I got it already...
Just go to the earnable goodies and press the button to get them, it guides you there then...
