They are listening, to people unlike you who want a game with PvEvP, with players that are out to get others, players that want to do stuff together and players that prefer to hide behind islands or just ignore others and everyone in between; you know - the game as advertised
@lem0n-curry I disagree I think players should have a choice how they want to play the game pve PvP optional cross play what's to say that a player will spend all there time on a pve servers maybe they will play on all different options depending on how they feel but there is a heavy focus in these forums to not give any players a choice

Disagree ? Disagree with how & why the game was developed and brought to the public ? Didn't it say shared world ? PvPvE ?
Do you really think Rare would like to lose the players who like the mix of players on the servers just to see a few players try a sailing simulator for a few weeks on game pass and get bored within a month ?
@lem0n-curry what's to say they would lose the players alot may remain cos that's how they like it people may jump between the option depending on how they feel like playing maybe the options would bring new players and make some players return who want to play the way the new options provided perhaps these option would make this game more popular then ever and let's not worry too much about how this game was advertised this game has been changing ever since the beginning and I was playing then when it was pretty much only fetch quests it's a gaas game and will change and has changed you embrace other changes why not this

Because it will change the mix of players on the Adventure servers into much more hostile on the average.
Because it will take away a lot of development resources to make a game mode where people can't be hurt - and lets face it ... people will find a way to bother you on a PvE server which will therefor need more changes and more resources that won't be spend on much needed bug fixes and continuing the Gaas (updates &c).
@lem0n-curry well that's a possibility and if the hostility bothers you as it does many players asking for pve servers your welcome to jump onto a pve server to get something done if you wish to do so infact more and more lately I see people on social media complain that the game is too hostile and has become too focused on Pvp but I ain't played for a while I definitely found it for worse once summit started streaming the game and there was a influx of hyper aggressive pc players come to the game I don't know I ain't played in a long while waiting for the cross play opt out to jump back on again

I have no issue with hostility - I prefer the PvEvP remember... I bought the game expecting this. Perhaps read what I wrote and see that the changing to (much) more hostile servers would bother me. I would not like to play Adventure mode where every session is a server filled with only hostile crews. Though that is preferable above a server where other crews are just background or faceless alliance members.
I like the mix on the server - trying to read a ship's behaviour (and proved wrong once in a while...).
@lem0n-curry well I don't know if that would turn out to be the case but I think pve servers would be cool there are time I could see myself playing this with my son and daughters who really don't like the PvP when play with my friends and wanting the sea if thieves experience PvP adventure mode play how my mood would dictate I think it's a good idea

It seems you don't want a PvE server but a private server. Where you can invite whoever you like and decide (if the invitees listen of course) how to play.
Have sailing contests, dig up the most chests or even fight between friends and family or just sail around. Those servers seem to be coming, though exactly how (& when) this will pan out is unknown.
I was just about to post a similar topic. Two of my friends actually quick the game today because of a crew of trolls that rolled up and sunk us while we were engaging an Ashen Fleet that'd been kicking our teeth in for the better part of 90 minutes.
Here's what I tossed up over on Twitter... (There's an entire thread associated with it, but I dunno if that'll show up here, so you may need to hop over to Twitter proper to read it.)
@blazedrake100 Because we had our alliance flag up. They came in and accepted our offer of an alliance to lure us into a false sense of security. Once our attention was back on the Skeleton galleons, they boarded our ship, stole all of our firebombs that we had in storage, torched us all, and then kegged us while we were all dead. Just because you don't make a sound over a mic doesn't mean you can't be a troll.
@nexrum They did nothing wrong. You, however, did - you let you guard down because you mistakenly believed that allies are friends. Newsflash - they're not; they're dirty, lying, greedy, filthy, bloodthirsty pirates. Only trust your crew. Everyone else? Keep them at sword's length - preferably with the blade across their neck.
@galactic-geek Which only reinforces my desire for a PvE option. As I mentioned in my Twitter post, I am terrible at PvP. My hands don't work right; there's nothing to do about it. If you like the cutthroat nature of the game? I'm all for supporting it. It make sense, even. But I just wish that there were more options for folks like me.

Losing happens and yes it can be frustrating. Fire is hardly making the game unplayable, people said the same about ship damage 2.0 and people simply got used to it. People will get used to fire too, threatening to quit 2 days after it's implementation sounds quite dramatic.
@bloodybil You're right. Alas, there's no way for me to edit the Tweet now that I've had tine to calm down a bit. But at the time I made it? I was livid.
My crew and I weren't getting hardly anywhere in our attempt to clear the Ashen Fleet. We found ourselves being circled by two galleons that did nothing but pelt us with firebombs, making it impossible for us to coordinate any kind of counterattack.
Before we knew it, we'd lost all three masts and were out of most the essential supplies. And when those players joined the fray and finished us off, causing my friends to actually ragequit and uninstall the game thereafter? You can imagine how it might fray someone's nerves.
I don't plan to leave the game like they did. I've been playing it since the Beta, practically on a daily basis. But, still, at the time, with emotions running as high as they were, I was seriously contemplating following their example.
Anyway, I've said what I came here to say. Could I have done a better job of doing it? Absolutely. But it's here now, and that's all that counts. So to those I've interacted with since sharing my Tweet? I appreciate your feedback!
Until next time, folks.

@bloodybil True. This'd be one of those things where I'd say, "You had to be there." We were struggling to put fires out most of the time, not really able to do much else. It wasn't fun, it was frustrating. And when those players joined the fray and finished us off, resulting in my friends to actually ragequit and uninstall the game thereafter? You can imagine how it might fray someone's nerves. I don't plan to quit. I've been playing this game since the Beta, practically on a daily basis. I just know that it'll be best for my sanity if I don't engage any more Ashen Fleets.
You and your friend do what you have to do, I'm just saying that ragequitting and uninstalling because of an unpleasant encounter doesn't really makes a game or feature unplayable.
Who here never got attacked by another crew while being caught by the kraken, attacked by a meg, at a fleet or at a fort? Doesn't make players engaging you trolls, PVP is part of the game, and people can be opportunistic.
To be honest it is a pirate game and thieves is in the title so your going to expect people attacking you and stealing your loot and the game is designed to be a shared world and to have that risk of being attacked. PvE servers would make the game boring in my opinion the reason why I love this game so much is the PvP in adventure mode and stealing loot it's just part of the game so just try and avoid other ships if you hate PvP that much
Imagine playing a game like Zelda, or any game really, then complaining that the boss is too hard. Instead of doing the rational thing and getting better at the game so you can overcome the obstacles, you complain to the developers to remove the boss so you can enjoy the game. This is such an absurd idea and I am genuinely surprised anyone would want this. The game would get so boring and stale if there was no challenge. My crew and I, all Athena 9-10 have done many of FoTD's. We do what many people do and chain a bunch together, sometimes we will have 3-5 worth of fort loot on our ship before we try and turn in. Sometimes we are uncontested without another ship in sight for the whole time. When this happens we are all exhausted and bored by the end of the runs. On the flip side, we have had runs where we have 4 different ships show up, we sink them, and they keep coming. Ask anyone in my crew, we all have significantly better times when we are contested, we make memories too. We are able to reminisce about the amazing team work and great job we all did to come out on top. Without PvEvP this would be lost. Almost everyone would go to non contested areas and farm free gold with no risk to themselves. Never add this. PLEASE.

Strange... Not sure why it quoted my original post. I'd tidied it up to better convey my thoughts before you submitted yours. No matter. Just wanted to reply by saying, overall, you're right and I agree with everything you just said.
The game has a rating for a reason. It's not for little kids. Plain and simple. If you want to have to explain the things they may experience in the game to their innocent little minds then that's on you. It's not on the devs to give you a kiddy time pirate experience in their game.
If you want to come home and unwind and sail without worrying about running into anyone after a long day you already can, do it in the sandbox you already have. Scuttle at first site of a ship and move on.
Enjoy the game for what it is and come here with some constructive criticisms or idea's that move the game in a positive direction for everyone. The idea that everyone should be catered to in their own way is absurd and not how things really work in the world at all, much less in this games development.

Anyone up for some forum bingo?
I'll warn you, I'm pretty good at it.Really good but you left out the "nOt SeA oF fRiEnDs" meme
@tak225 but the game isn’t just about you mate. This would kill the game. There are a lot of people who want to play and have the fear of loot being stole, but a feeling of accomplishment when they defeat or outplay the enemy. This game wasn’t created to just PvE. If you played for a month alone you would see how little content this game has as a single player. This is what you would do: Get a voyage at point A. Complete voyage at point B. Return to point A. That is the core concept of the game. Krakens, megs, and skelly ships are all easily avoidable once you understand how they work. The game would have no real threats but more importantly no content. So, so many people would leave the game because of this that rare would be forced to turn servers off and not update the PvE client of the game. Sorry but from a logical and business standpoint, your idea is very ignorant and would likely never happen. If you want to play with your family then play a more casual game like Nintendo single players, but SoT just isn’t the game for you.
When I say single player I mean not online btw.
@realstyli Most of the time I have no loot. Talking won't help, since most times other players KoS, and that's the problem for me

@ruigtand-nl No matter what you do PvP will find you, Their is no escape. Wether it is in the open seas or trying to turn loot into a outpost. I've ran into the same amount of people camping the outpost to kill and take your loot. Their is no escape! Their is even time where I can't even leave the outpost when I first start because of people camping.
Where on Earth are you playing from? I play from Texas and Florida. I have played since beta and have never once ran into pirates camping outposts.
Also, SoT isn't a PVP game. It's a PVPVE.
Should I even bother mentioning you're complaining about pirates in a PIRATE game?
@lem0n-curry I don't know which ever it is my point is more options for people to play this game how they like I think would be a good thing
@tak225
It sounds good on paper, but as we've been trying to tell you, it would greatly change the pvp pve balance in adventure. Right now, you don't really know how someone will react to seeing you. But with a pve server, you'd know that it was a pvper, because why else would they not be in easy mode?@nexrum Then I suggest you try this: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controllers/xbox-adaptive-controller
The only reason to have a solo pve mode would be for tall tales. Because you're on an adventure learning about the game. Nothing worse than spending an hour or two just to lose your totem to random pvp and having to start over.
Make the rewards fit the mode. No progression toward order of souls, gold hoarders etc. Only the cosmetic rewards for completion.
That being said. I understand the pvp aspect of sea of thieves. It's why I play the game. Never know what's on that horizon. It's part of the adventure. Part of the glory. Part of the story.
Going back to the ship to refill my rum. See you on the seas.... or maybe not... Depending on my mood, I may friend you, I may try to sink you. I may make sure you never knew I was there.
@davidhawk1 In my experiences people don't really KoS. I had to deal with a sloop last night which was KoS when I was trying to finish a ashen voyage and I managed to get rid of them. People KoS'ing isn't really that common in my experiences (most are completely oblivious that you are there) and is quite easy to deal with. I personally just kill them and run away if I feel like I could lose, or just run away if I don't feel like fighting.

I get your concerns but, really, if you have no loot you have no reason to run - if you are afraid of losing your supplies, you could gather enough supplies fairly fast on a new server. And, if you have enough supplies to be afraid to lose them, you have enough to put up a good fight. Running for so long makes no sense, it's just wasting your own time.
100% agree but been saying this since alpha and still nothing. Also get tired of trolls that just sink your ship just to sink it even if you arent on it and neither is treasure. its annoying to be solo playing and before you even find the treasure on an island a galleon has shown up to sink your ship while you are in the middle of an island. then you have to go to another island and sail all the way back more than likely fighting the troll that just sunk you.
This game is one of my favorite games, but its almost infuriating to play now because most of the only players left are the ones who just love to sail around sinking your ships or attacking you for an hour so you cant get anything done.
@realstyli because then they sink you...then you have to then spawn on another island with a new ship, sail back to where you were to finish your voyage only to get attacked by the same person. its obnoxious.
