[IDEAS] Destiny tree, mythical creatures, ancient stories, ancient sea weapons

  • Hello, you have made a wonderful game, the graphics, music and the lighting effects are a masterpiece. Really thank you Rare for this game. I really hope you read and keep in mind the ideas of your community. I have some suggestions for your game, if you like them please put them in.

    First one is a pirate destiny tree (more explanation below in the edit section).. this game needs a character progression, please add some fun RP elements, as an example for this suggestion, imagine a pirate wheel with multiple destiny pirate paths with skills. We could have passive (or active) skills with positive / negative stats and effects or auras for all of our crew members. Imagine a path that you could take the skin look of a rotten pirate like Flying Dutchman in Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
    The first stage, you become a little bit rotten with some passive effects (positive and negative), if you max the path you take the ability to make the look of your ship like a ghost and your crew like rotten pirates with stage 1 effect. The effects, could give you a negative-positive skill for example you take more dmg at the morning but you become faster at night or a negative effect you have highly chance to spawn skeleton pirates armadas around your ship because you belong to them and you have to fight them for your freedom etc... not MMO skills but fun passive skills that give a lot of RP in our characters.

    My second suggestion is, add some variety of things to do with our gold, make the gold more important... add more kind of weapons? (I would love to had a new weapon, maybe double pistols or new rifles or pistols with 3 barrels etc...).

    Third suggestion, islands (some of them bigger?) with quest generated ancient boss fights (not only skeletons) with complicated strategies.
    If you find the quest item, you could open the gate to fight these special bosses. The drop of these bosses would be not only chests or gems for gold but some special and unique items.. for example some ancient weapons that you could have only for the current session that give to your crew or you some mythical strength. (Maybe Poseidon's Trident to control the wind?)

    Fourth suggestion, add more sea mythical creatures in the game like Hydra, Qalupalik, Ningen, Vodyanoy etc...

    And the last one suggestion, i like the freedom of i can do whatever i want but many games that use this as a moto tends to be very repetitive, tedious without any special goal.
    We don't want this for Sea of Thieves, it's so beautiful game.. add more goals in this game with unique usable rewards.. (not achievements). For example, some hard quests with old sea stories that unlocks unique skins or weapons and titles... Make the quests hard to be completed but every quest has a different sea story to tell, with a representative item as a reward. You can introduce new weapons from these quests.

    When i mean destiny trees, i mean a system that you lvl up your path.. (with voyages). In every voyage that you complete, you get 1 pirate destiny point. Then, you spent these points in your pirate destiny path tree. Every 10 destiny levels you will take some story voyages to unlock your next 10 destiny levels and your new title.
    This tree can contain cosmetics like the rotten look (like i said above), as you level up this tree you level up your rotten look too. Some shareable skills like, more gold for your crew from chests, or make your crew rotten too (if you have the path maximized), maybe a passive skill that you increase the chance for skulls pirate ships to spawn nearby you but with the difference that you will gain something else, or a skill that will make you ghost pirate (aetherial) for 3 seconds and you will not able to be attacked or attack others.
    Some skills with positives and negatives that will not give you huge advantage against your enemies (for example, kill the enemy with one shot) but will make your game more RP and story friendly. If you want to reset your destiny path then you can reset it anytime and start your new story destiny path from the start.
    Every destiny path should provide something unique to help your crew. With a system like that, you will have a progression to keep a new player or a veteran in the game for days. It will keep him attached because he will be able to level up his character progression and form a bond with him.
    I don't mean skills like other MMO games for example increase damage or increase crit.. nah !

  • @captain-coel Character progression doesn't mean to add more damage stats.. just some fun effects.. Not like MMO with stats, i mean some RP character progression.

    All progression should remain cosmetic. Maybe have the trees and keep them cosmetic, but no effects. Everyone logs in the same, and it should stay that way. Also, you can already role play in this game.

    But still, any advantages/differences from other crews that they can't always choose and aren't only for the session are against one of rare's principles. I know it's not a direct advantage, but still, it's a different playstyle new players can't use, no matter how good they are.
