Information for the White Lantern Flame

    For those of you that do not know at the moment, you can get a belt in the game that will make you a huge lightning rod in storms.

    This is not a MYTH, it is actually IN the game because of the new event.

    Go to duke and look at the clothes that he is offering. There are 2 sets of clothes. You can buy 1 set with doubloons and 1 set with gold.

    Look at the belts that he offers and read the description. There is a belt that reads "wearing this belt with attract lightning blah blah". I think its part of the new Red Admiral set that he sells for gold. It could be for doubloons but I'm pretty sure its for gold. After I get online to confirm I'll let yall know.

    The second you enter the storm with this belt you will be targeted. Just make sure you have low health so you don't have to take so many hits.

    Here is the other issue. WHEN YOU GET THE FLAME, CHANGE YOUR BELT. The lightning strikes don't stop if you are below deck. lolol found that out the hard way lololol.

    The belt is brand new how was it there from the beginning? Unless other belts also had that description. Ill check though.

    @xultanis-dragon ALL admiral belts say that.
    The only myth was became true is in the patch notes

    Holding a sword in a storm makes you get struck more often, and you take much more damage.

    The belt has been in the game since launch, and was always the go to belt for lightening strikes. Pretty sure the description has read the same since the beginning too, but can not say with 100% certainty

    Even before the lantern lighting, topics were created requesting that clothing yield abilities.
    Alas no such luck. Cosmetic descriptions don't affect anything.

    But there was this in the patch notes:

    Defy the Storm! – In true death-defying pirate style, taunting the storm by wielding your sword now increases your chance of being struck by lightning. And when it does strike, expect it to pack more of a punch… see you on the Ferry!

    This is the kind of uninformed misinformation that spreads and then everyone in game calls you an idiot when you tell them it's not true.

    It's not.

    Descriptions mean nothing and never have, and lightning strikes have been adjusted to make it much more common in general to get the colours.

    Sword out in lightning however does work for increasing chance now.

    Did not know this. Ty for the information.. I'm going to insist descritely that all my crew dress the same in the new uniform later and have a good laugh to myself as they all get zapped constantly.

    cosmetics have never and do not have any actual effect on the game. i don't care what the flavor text is. stop trying to spread a stupid meme about a cosmetic. you aren't the first and it wasn't funny the first time.

    The belt is not true, however since the recent update it is way simpeler to get struck by lightning, they made it strike more for one but if you hold your sword out you are actually a slight bit more likely to get hit and it does WAY more damage

    The only thing that attracts the lightning is the sword, theres a few cosmetics with silly titles like that just for fun.
