Honestly my only real disappointment with pets is that I can't put it on my shoulder like an accessory. The only way you can carry it around is by holding it which means you can't do anything else unless you put it down. Can we make pets going on shoulders happen like seen in other games like Ark.
Allow Pets to be put on your shoulder.
@shamanmclamie they are apperantly unable to do so (this is what the devs themselves said) with all the different body types that can come from the infinite pirate generator in combination with hats it woul cause a lot of clipping issues
@callmebackdraft That is a good point. Still would be nice to have the Pets on you in some capacity without having to carry them.
@callmebackdraft i wonder how they were able to make it so they could have it on your arm and the chests on your back while climbing ladders 🤔
It should be a no brainer that having pets would require a little thought when constructing the Sea of Thieves world. That being said to put the pet on the shoulder should be very simple. Have it link to the shoulder bone or the IK control and have it adjust the clothing that it could come in contact with. This would make it so there is less clipping and would only make the adjustments on a per model basis instead of making the pet conform to detect collision with hats and shoulder guards for outfits. Just a simple fix on a per item basis and you make it standard for items going forward. May take a week or two to implement but it would go a long way into making pets far more enjoyable. Having them on your adventures with you. Maybe even distract the undead we see all over the islands.
It's obviously not so simple or they would have done it. Maybe you could send them instructions or code it for them? :-)
If you have knowledge in it they do have openings for work! Also I'm sure they've contemplated this and it might be on the bottom of the totem as I'm sure they have a lot more and impressive content on the way. However, I highly like the idea of mounting the pets to the shoulder or somewhere that can be easily implemented!
Yeh, would be good. I was slightly disappointed when I found out my parrot couldn't sit on my shoulder. Figured there must be a reason..
