Disclaimer: These are just my ideas on what could be of a curse you could attain in this game. Most of these curses will just cover mostly like the face and an arm or leg, because you still have some human of you left. Let’s go!
Bone Crusher Curse (Thanks for the name change, @UltmateRagnarok!): Very simple, really. An non-hook arm or non-peg leg leg could be turned into bones. By completing further commendations or achievements, you could attain the shadow, plant, or gold skeleton version of the limb.
Douglass Stone/Crystal Curse: If you played the tall tales, you would remecer that you would have to dig up the skull of Captain Douglass, who had rocky crystals growing out of it. I think there could be 2 stages- the first one is just half your body could be Stone, with pockmarks and cracks throughout your cursed body (proportions similar to the Shores of Gold curse). Stage 2 (unlocking more stuff?) is attaining the crystals, with them jutting out the side of your head, and possibly running down your arm. A further thing you could do is that you could purchase different colored crystals when you have unlocked this stage.
Athena’s Curse: When you attain Athena level 10, you can get this curse with new glowing eyes, just like the mysterious stranger.
Curse of the Damned: No idea how you would unlock this (new Damned events in the future?) but half or the whole of your avatar could be ghostly like you were on the Ferry. It shouldn’t be too disorienting, though, because attackers might complain with the look of it.
Curse of the Wailing Barnacle: This could look like Bootstrap Bill from Pirates of the Caribbean while under Davy Jones’s command. You would have barnacles or coral growing out of your face. You would also looked also look perpetually drenched in water.
Ocean Crawler Curse: With this, half of your face would turn red, and a shiny shell look to it. One of your eyes could have a stem with a beady eye at the end of it, and your hook arm would be turned into a claw.
Kraken Curse: Half purple face, with one of your eyes to look like a kraken eye (Looks like Sauron, too). One of your hands could be a tentacle, with suckers at the end.
Curse of the Black Pearl: Literally right from the first Pirates movie, but when at night, and the moon isn’t behind a cloud, you would look like a zombie, with no nose and rotting flesh.
Gold Hoarder Goon Curse: This isn’t really a curse, I just thought it would be cool to have. Just like the Gold Hoarder’s skeletons, you could have two big good coins in front of your eyes (And maybe a bandana held up around your mouth, to make it more apparent?) As I’m writing this, I realize that this can also be a symbolism of how greed can blind you. Huh.
Forsaken Ashes Curse (Thank you @ShamanMcLamie for the suggestion!): This curse will change the color of your corneas to blazing orange, and around your eyes, there will be black ashes. It could also be added to have streaks across your face.
