Lets make a "Potions" list!

Shark Repellent: self explanatory
Full Sails: ship will act like the Skellie ship when it turbo burst... despite the wind.
Curse breaker: cursed cannon balls have no affect on your ship for period of time.
Reaper’s Revenge: shows all ships on the server on the map for a short period of time.
Davy Jones: Ship will dive/ submerge like the skellie ship for a mile or so.

All for a limited time, obviously:

Skealth potion - drinking this makes you appear (to others and to the skellies) as a skeleton - able to fool friends and enemies all at once.

Pet peeve - you and your pet switch bodies for a period of time with access only to the abilities of the body being inhabited (eg if parrots can fly, you can too - whereas now your parrot has a sword arrrr!)

Ariel's cure - you're turned into a mermaid! Anyone you strike will be sent back to their ship immediately

A shrinking potion
Anyone for miniature Pirates?
Not sure how it would fit in, if at all, but just a bit of fun :)

a potion that changes the way we look would be awsome. im sick of my pirate

But what if we took these Ideas and gave them some Sea of Thieves flare to them?

The Blowdarts is a great Idea giving all pirates an option to equip one as a ranged weapon and shoot special ammo would be great as a balance since you compensate the power of these special effects with the fact that you'd have to sacrifice an otherwise damaging weapon.

Now in stead of paying gold for these why not have us craft them? Kill a snake get a poison gland use 2 in a special cauldon or trade them in at the potion shop and get a poison dart. (up to X ammount carried max)

Same with health potions get some plants that can be cut down for materials and have that be turned in for several effects, seaweed gives water breating plants can heal etc.

I'd love to have a stealth button that just hides your gamertag. Equipping dark clothing and sneaking on board a ship would be great. To counter this it would be nice to be able to craft a potion that makes other players give off a sort of glow to find those pesky hiding pirates.

@hynieth I think potions could change the face of the game! I'm down for killing and harvesting snakes anytime (I hate those critters). The more I look at my list. The Lost City of Gold idea is very enticing. Instead of exploring shipwrecks you're exploring an entire city of ruins! One that has air pockets, sharks, eels, barracuda, octopus etc....... It would be crazy exploring such a site! Having to use potions for sight and aqua lungs for breath. It'd be a great challenge!

I think if you toss a few buckets of puke overboard it should temporarily attract sharks....the chumbucket. A little protection against unwelcome boarders.

Potion #9 : Makes you extremely attractive to animals. Animals won't flee from you and will be attracted to your presence.

@conal-cuan I like this idea! It'd be hilarious to see pigs following you around on a quest for a chest! You'd have to be able to use this on your crewmates!😂

Animal sensor
Crew sensor
Venom antidote
Run faster
Jump higher
Dig faster
Swim faster
Etc...Etc...

But they will only be cosmetic, I get it. But something that really affects gameplay would be cool.

@rayzback I do like the idea to summon sharks. Maybe not with puke but going with the idea of potions, we could throw in the water or smash it on the ship for the effect.

Aye but NO Reapers Revenge.
It aint fair if i get to spot other players who dont want to be spotted without there consent. At this moment u can see my ship map wide ONLY if i choose to.

On the others yes why not. Altho i dont see a ship drinking a potion...

Everything is better small... lol.
Would make hiding on ships really cool, and fighting a mini-pirate would be awesome.
A lot of fun could be had with it.
