How about fire skeletons and possibly Ice skeletons. What's everyone's thoughts on this?
New Skeleton types!
My feelings on new skeletons is my enjoyment of skeletons has a diminishing return. I would much rather have greater variety in enemy types other than the boney variety.
Don't quote me on this, but I believe that each of the skeleton types are a reflection of what faction the skeleton was involved with prior to its demise (Gold skeletons belonging to Gold Hoarders for example). So to fit with that theme the game has set we would first need a faction where that would make sense. Unless we shift direction and make a skeleton reflect how the pirate it was before had met its end. Which leads on to my next point.
I think fire and ice would need to fit thematically, currently we have the Devils Roar where fire may be suitable, but no polar environments. So in order for enemies with Ice abilities to be introduced outside of the banner of "magic" I think there first needs to be a believable background for them.
@macdoland You make some good points. I hope the two spots on the map that are empty are going to be new themed areas. I want mermaids or sirens A.I, that possibly guard sunken ships. Although they would need an Atlantis underwater area for them. What type of enemies would you like to see introduced?

How about just new types of enemies non skeleton-types ?:)
personally I want enemies that train your skills at the game.
Off the top of my head:
- Aerial enemies such as large birds and other winged creatures - to improve cannon aim
- Enemies that threaten you in sunken ships such as octopus, crab, merfolk.
- Enemies that climb up the ship - to improve skills at repelling and fighting players on the ship
- Large animals such as whales that are to be sailed around with the ship (may not be an actual enemy, but a hazard)
- In fact more hazards in general to train sailing skills, however that is off topic.
- The British and Spanish (I just recently watched Black Sails).
- More land based threats, such as a large boar, crab or python.
@macdoland Interesting I like! A few mates of mine always joke that I spec all my points into Pvp and none into sailing ha ha.
