FIREBALL OF DOOM

  • There you are 2 players on a sloop, loaded down with over 100 supplies of every kind, maybe 10k of treasure. You are doing a gold hoarders quest on fetchers rest, you stay on the boat for safety purposes, the island is quiet. Your buddy digs up the chest and starts returning to the boat, as he does so the island starts to erupt. Right as he board your boat and you lift anchor literally the FIRST fireball out of the mountain is a galleon size rock that instakills both of you and sinks your ship before you can return from the ferry. There is literally nothing fun about this and quite literally ends peoples play session for the day, wrong kind of hard. The game litereally targeted you and murdered you with the first fireball out the hole, even after its nerf of the rates the targetting behavior of these valcanos feels stupidly unnatural and dumb.

  • I don't mean to sound unkind, but that is the price you pay. Choosing to risk staying until your crewmate returned put you in a bad decision. That's the dilemma for all in the Devil's Roar.
Run Fast or Risk It All. You gambled and lost. Best thing to do is learn from this and play it cautious next time. Now you know the possibility of a voyage ending fireball.

  • You say this isn't funny but I'm picturing this in my mind and It's actually quite comical.

Devils Roar isn't for beginners it's for advanced players. They've already dialed down the eruptions to where me and my crew can do an entire athena's voydage without being close to a single volcano.

    I see a few mistakes you've made.

    1. You dropped anchor.
    2. You waited for a single chest
    3. You didn't see a huge rock coming and/ or just stood there gaping at it.
    4. You probably didn't use a roboat
