Just came across the most annoying obnoxious players

I always use a sloop and find myself in situations like this sometimes. Go to an inactive fort and leave your partner with the key there and pick up some gunpowder barrels. Go suicide your sloop full of kegs into that galleon, when your ship respawns grab that key and move. Or drop your boy off in a rowboat out of sight with the the key and lead the galleon far away. Have him load up once their mermaid is gone. At this point he could get the loot to the outpost or go park it on an island safely and guard while you bring the galley crew to the middle of nowhere.

You got this, just do it quick before the fort loot despawns!

I’m currently on a server. 2 hours ago, I completed a fort with my brother and on the captain wave a galleon with 2 rolls up. They start shooting our sloop up but I manage to kill the captain and snag the key and high tail it out with the key which they try to give chase, but give up and turn back to the fort and sit there and anchor down. It’s been 2 hours and they are still at the fort with 4 players now and I’ve been doing voyages with the key still stashed on our sloop, and now the skeleton ships have appeared.

I’m not complaining about anything I’m just venting my frustration and asking if anyone’s ever had a similar experience? I’ve made about twice the amount of fort loot and these guys are just still waiting there (they put up a reaper flag) and they’re accomplishing NOTHING at all.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they thought you were the most annoying one in this deal. They just want to fight over the loot, you ran away with the key instead of battling for it.

Now I would never bother waiting that long to deny someone, but it is the risk you took when sailing off with the key. They don't know where you are or the key, they just know where you will have to go.

Their strategy is legit and a counter to yours (sail off with the key). They also seem to be strong enough willed to just sit at a fort for that long.

@dreamcrusher401 Did that before. We knew a legend crew was watching the island so we came in with several row boats (some hidden by our galleon), loaded up the rowboats during a storm once it finished, and sailed the galleon in one direction to trick the other galleon. They gave chase (one crew member on the galleon), whereas the rest of us used rowboats to bring the loot to the nearby outpost. Our galleon was a full of kegs and once they followed him far enough, he turned, aimed for them, and rammed them before blowing up the roughly thirty kegs we had on board.
