Opening the Vault

  • As we were minding our own business, my crew member and I witnessed a Skull Cloud. We sailed towards the fort, defeated the waves of skeletons and obtained the vault key. In the middle of getting the loot out of the vault and onto the ship, we had a server switch. As I was trying to get back in to the vault to collect the rest of the chest and artifacts and skulls I hit an invisible door. Unfortunately, none of us were able to enter the doorway to retrieve the goods.

  • @residentocean80 Ahoy matey!

Sorry to hear this, this sounds terrible, devastating in fact!

Make sure you submit a support ticket using the link below - if you haven't already - so someone can take a look at this case and see where things went wrong technically.

    Thanks.

    Submit a support ticket

  • @residentocean80 servers merges... That's how those nightmares works.. everything else but the things on your ship or you're carrying just disappears or became unable to interact. ...

Usually happens when the servers are empty and unfortunately when we just finished something important, ruining all the effort we put in that (forts, skeleton ships and Athena's) ahahaha

  • @musicmee Thank you for taking the time on reading my post. I really appreciate it. Lots!

And no I have not submitted a support ticket. I don't even know how or where to find this support ticket you speak of, but now that YOU have sent me the link I am totally grateful. I will now go submit me a support ticket.

    Thanks again for your help.

What?! Wait... You're an insider, a founder and a pioneer and never heard of raising support tickets till now?!

This unrest me a bit ahahaha.

  • We had it on athena voyage not being able to continue half dug up chest.

Luckily we had a chest of sorrows aswell. We didnt have to cry ourselfs

  • @nunoazuldimeter I never had to raise a support ticket. :3 Ha-ha!

  • @residentocean80 so how did you report the bugs you found in the Pioneers or the main build?
(This is just a curiosity concern. I'm not judging anything 😁)

That's how it is supposed to be done. Since ever matey.

  • @weakdexx The agony! lol

  • @nunoazuldimeter I've been posting them on the forums??? D:

  • @nunoazuldimeter So...we should never merge servers then.

  • @residentocean80
Ohh... Dear. But the forum's topics are for feedback not to report bugs.

That equals nothing on the reporting matter I think.
The reporting methods are that musicme told you, rising support tickets.
Or through the Xbox insider hub option.

  • @nunoazuldimeter . . . . . . . . . . . .This is quite eye opening. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I get it now. Thank you for your feedback! :P Greatly appreciate it! Now I know how to do the do. (crosses fingers) :3

@nunoazuldimeter So...we should never merge servers then.

The server merges works in a way that the game try to pair us with others to improve our gaming experience.
When our server becames empty of players that happens, we are merged to a more populated one.

The bad thing around here is the timing those merges are occuring. It always happens when we just finished something... What is bad for the spoils that remains loose around.

We're probably hearing/facing more of this issue due to our location. I'm noticing that more populated countries and regions do not suffer much from this.

  • Server merge is fine. Just merge the items u working on aswell. or like any items in an island vicinity. Then we can still get that chest out or still empty the vault.

  • @nunoazuldimeter Very informative! Then i guess we can't escape this nightmare huh? It's whatever the server pairs us.

  • @residentocean80 probably.
I had one gaming session which I was merged 4 times... Made me loose 2 skeleton ships loot and one fort.
    😅

  • if im not mistaken, RARE mentioned in one of their update videos for a patch even before cursed sails that if you were in range of a skull fort, you would not be included in a server merge. Maybe that got nixed with latest updates? Or maybe it was only for an active fort, defeating it maybe messed that up. That would suck.

Wow! I would be upset. The other day I was upset because I was on my way to do a fort, got a server switch and it was gone. I couldn't imagine doing the fort and losing the stuff. :(

  • @zormis Tell me about it :(

  • @weakdexx I don't understand how to do all that. :/

  • @nunoazuldimeter Dang :(

  • @enticed-malice Probably :/Who knows?

  • @residentocean80 Its not something u should do. Its something Rare should do.

  • @weakdexx I know. I filed a Support Ticket 4 days ago and Alex from the Support Team solved the issue. Hopefully by the next update or so it will be fixed he says.

  • Same thing happened to me. Only got the chest out then it merged. Door looks open and you can see all the remaining loot but you cannot enter. Just left after trying various things.

  • I experienced a server merge shortly after defeating a skull fort, it occurred while i was climbing the ship ladder with key in hand. I went back to open the vault, and to my surprise, the vault was already open. I loaded the boat up with the loot and sailed away with a free vault key. I had to log off shortly after so I just used the key on the Skull Keep vault to see what the inside of one of these inactive forts looked like.

Comparing our experiences, I claim the following:

    1. If you defeat the captain and the server merges before you open the vault, the vault automatically opens and is accessible with the loot still remaining inside. (Also, you get a free vault key assuming you were holding the key or the key was on your boat during the server merge.)
    2. If the servers merge after the vault has been opened, the vault becomes inaccessible.
