Sort of meh on Forsaken Shores...

  • It looks pretty and all and its not bad, but after an hour and a half I was already done and sort of over it. And I found tons of bugs, like falling off the Brigs ladder over and over, or how unpolished the rowboat is... Looks like something from an old Oblivion mod. xD I expected more from them delaying by a week.

  • The delay was to get rid of a bunch of game-breaking bugs and to deliver a relatively smooth release.

Though I think the Xbox servers collectively going down the tubes thanks to Fortnite rather soured the release.

Darn to the depths whatever mutton-head invited Fortknight.

I’m sorry I had to complete the reference.

  • I started playing at 4pm UK time and finished around 9pm. Completed every Commendation and got all the Doubloons.

Went back on for 2hrs at 11pm just to get the last few skulls required to get me to level 50 in OOS.

Today/Tomorrow will be the perfect time to make plenty of coin and also get the Doubloons, as every ship I met on the seas today was only interested in forming an alliance.

Have to say I loved the update, thought the island design was gorgeous and had just the right amount of difficulty without getting annoying.

Now to find something to do to make the next couple of weeks go by until the cargo missions come out! Oh, I know, grind Merchant Alliance! :(

  • I've been having a blast. My first trip to an island I found two ashen chests, loaded them on my rowboat and headed out. Only to find that my ship had somehow sunk.

So, with nothing but my memories of the map and my trusty compass, I attempted to navigate my way to the outpost. It was tougher than I thought, but I eventually made it.

I even continued on to two more islands before a gunpowder shellie forced me to respawn.

Later I was passing by my target island, planning to anchor further on out of range, only to be blasted off my ship by a precisely aimed cannonball.

I swam to the island and found the Forsaken Alliance skeleton I was looking for and decided to try and swim for the next island over.

A fight with a shark left me with two bullets and two bananas, but I made it. Unfortunately, the island's volcano was erupting and I knew that swimming to an island through hot water required a full 5 bananas.

I skirted the island, hoping it would stop soon, but alas, a another shark appeared first. Without the resources to take it on, I swam for the island, hoping the eruption would stop before my health ran out.

Sadly it didn't. I took a trip to the Ferry and the shark got a rare treat of boiled pirate.

Maybe I'm just easily amused, but I love traversing the Devil's Roar. I can already see me spending whole play sessions using nothing but the rowboat.

  • Next complaint is probably how ridiculous it is staying alive between volcanoes and PvP yeah?

It's like you only post to complain lol

Ladder bug is nothing new, and the rowboat is hardly broken considering.

No matter how many weeks for anything it isn't releasing perfect.. the intention is to remove the gamebreakers.

  • @tre-oni Someone seems a little grumpy today xD

@xRekkoffx I'm enjoying it so far. Still got lots of exploring to do but I have definitely picked out a few qualms I have with the update so far. There definitely looks to be some things that need tweaking but overall I like the update so far.

I will have to get some more playtime in to really formulate a solid opinion, that's for sure.

  • Please find a new game to play!

  • @el-dth-taco Nooo! We need pirates in our seas :)

@xRekkoffx But I would go ahead and give your feedback in the megathread if you haven't already. That seems to be where the devs go when they look for feedback on the forum.

    Thanks you. 😆

  • Agreed. It's just more of the same. Nothing really new, aside from the new islands, but there's really nothing to do on those new islands... Just basically the same voyages you've been doing since the start of the game, just with a new skin to them.

  • @xcalypt0x true but this one only complains about everything

  • @el-dth-taco And thats due to me staying off here unless I have something to say, most cases its due to bugs I have found or toxic players. But please by all means, keep going.

  • I have to salute the dev team, the game did not brake on launch, the ilands and vulcanos and throwing rocks work perfect, it may be the same but the loot is so much better (and athenas are more fun now) the game feels more alive, the pvp is so much better, (less CCB) so now the game feels more like from the beginning but more alive.

The rowboat is ton of fun, me and a friend was rowing around last night attacking other ships, another Guy was rowing around our gallion in hope to catch us but we sunk his rowboat,

I rly love all the quests that we get from all the barrels because i dont like to buy My quests i want to find them so thats also a plus for me.

The team did rly Good on this one
