I have seen a lot of post about how PC players have such an advantage over xbox. You guys are making us sound like god's..I am a PC player and I play with a full xbox crew of my best friends! We talk about this topic a lot so I just want to clear the air a little bit for everyone. Ok..so! When it comes to playing on the PC an advantage I have is maybe a little better aim..mouse is more accurate than a controller but you can't argue with me and say it is such a huge difference that it is game changing..next is turn speed, now this is the big difference between xbox and pc..and that is why they have buffed xbox turn speed 2 times now for xbox players! I see a lot of people on here talking about how PC players can making items disappear and all PC players are hackers..and we have the power of god in us..this is not true at all..my friends and I have sat down and tested all of this..my friends who play on xbox can do EVERYTHING I can. Oh another thing..people say jumping and fighting can only be done on a pc..also not true..if anyone would like to sit down with my friends and get free lessons just let me know..I will set this up. There is absolutely nothing I can do that my xbox friends can not do..yes my aim may be 20% better..yes I may be able to turn 20% faster..but other than that the only advantage I can get over an xbox player is hacking..and 90% of pc players are not going to risk getting their account getting banned due to hacking. If you do run into someone hacking please report them because even other pc players don't want to be associated with them..Also..I have watched my friends trash pc players..lol

Go watch shroud play that new blackout beta on console then when it was released on pc a couple days later or any other similar comparison.
There is no point arguing about it but the difference in skill ceiling due to much faster and more precise speed of movement and aiming, the target acqusition is night and day different. You need to have the potential to play at that level in the first place but the pacing at high level is so different i dont see how people can say its negligible..
And yeah most pc players dont hack but it is a problem that is only brought to the table for console players through pc.
@keetalurk The point I am trying to get across to everyone is that it is not a game breaking difference..when people die they come to the forms and and blame pc..that is the point I am trying to make..when honestly 70% of the time they are probably not even dying to a pc player..it is probably another xbox player but they go stright to blaming pc..I know my math is not spot on and I was not trying to break it down..I am just trying to make a point that people are blaming pc players too much when in reality they probably just suck at gaming..not trying to be rude but the truth hurts sometimes lol for example..my friend on xbox killed a guy the other day and the first thing he said was "D word pc players." Then we had to inform the guy that he was an xbox player and the guy just kept on saying there was no way..LOL..idk just hearing that guy say that and then seeing people post on the forms that they die to pc players all the time just made me want to say something..I just hate that when people die pc is the excuse every time..even though it is probably an xbox player.

Imo the only was this would Stop If the sensibility would removed completly and everyone had the Same turning Speed

It is not fun to be stronger than everyone..I think I am just to the point I am getting a little tilted because everytime someone dies it is due to a pc player..But they are working on making it more balanced which I LOVE! My xbox friends are enjoying the game so much more with that extra turn speed. It is nice to see they are trying..I just wish the community would stop using the excuse it was a pc player when they die..kinda annoying. I just wanted to speak my mind and I am sure it is going to upset some people and that is not what I am trying to do.
@averageheroz i agree that people complaining about something that isnt the cause of a problem is annoying, and that likely a lot of people will find something to blame when they lose.
The facts of the imbalance of this crossplay/control scheme issue remains.
People of the same mental skill ceiling and the same potential for muscle memory and twitch reactions, when faced with these 2 control schemes and have the same level of comfort with their control scheme, pc will win way more often. Basically in a controlled environment pc will have a large and game breaking advantage. Obviously a controlled environment dosnt exist in matchmade online games. So good xbox players will beat average pc players etc.
The actual unbiased facts dont change and there is math to prove this im sure, a joysticks range of motion and it having to return to center to stop, compared to a free range of motion and point and click ability mouse has.
The fact also still remains that any other crossplay game isnt forced and this game has low pop servers and a high enough player pop overall to allow this.

It is just the fact when I watch my friend who plays on xbox trash people..they complain about him being on a pc when he is playing on an xbox..that is what gets to me..like if you die to someone on xbox and blame it on them being on a pc..the difference must not be that big lol.

The following is not directed at anyone in particular.
At the same token I am not generalizing the entire console playerbase. Many of you are upstanding.We've had to put up with cheats for decades and now console players have finally joined the real world by having the apron strings cut by the introduction of crossplay.
It's not pleasant is it?Thankfully today's hacks are being charged a price which helps lower the number of cheaters compared to when they used to be freely downloaded.
Keep in mind that hardly (if) any game developer actually invests time and money in taking counter measures against hacks.
It's more often than not the PC playerbase who step up and create cheat detectors and blockers. We do this in our own free time before we release them for free. That means our time spent when we could have been playing games.
Not to mention yet another upside of the millions of cool game mods created by PC gamers that have also been freely available for decades.So rather than frown upon all PC gamers for the actions of a very small minority the gaming community should gratefully embrace them for their contributions.
To date the only confirmed figure of PC gamers in SoT was 14%.
If you keep ostracizing the PC gamer then many of us will leave, leaving you with the cheats to deal with on your own. Good luck with that.
The actual cheaters won't take anything that you say to heart. It only effects the rest of us.With that in mind, why should we bother to waste our free time to eradicate cheats for a unappreciative community that just take, take, take, whine, whine, whine, blame, blame, blame?

think of it like going from school to the workforce.
you can't stay in school your whole life, you have to grow up at some point.and consoles are growing up. they are looking like PCs more and more.

@a-cranky-eskimo @Admiral-RRRSole One good point Admiral makes is that the cheaters and hackers do not care what you say to them..that is the main point I am trying to make..People just stright up assume when they die that it was a PC player and that we are all hacking or cheating..and to be honest it might not bother most people but it does me..that is the whole reason I made this post..it honestly hurts me to know that anytime I use skill to best another player it is just oh..I hacked to cheated because I am on PC..they don't need or want prof of anything..I am a PC player so I am by defalt a cheater..and I know that is just them upset because they lost..but to hear that 10 or more times in one day is kinda upsetting..But I also agree the balance is not at 100%..I just wish I was not a hacker or cheater every time I got a kill..I play pc so I am a cheater by default..
@squaz05 actually some of the smartest people continue schooling and learning for most of their life, and never get this apathetic attitude where you just act like you should explain an opinion as if it is fact, and take facts and pretend they are opinion or emotion. Consoles are filling a need, pc’s arent supposed to be specific like a gaming console is.

@averageheroz i kill and sink ships all day long and rarely people blame me for being a pc player though a few times for sure. I see why that would upset honest pc players who believe the playing ground is fair and who dont cheat, but two facts remain.
Pc has an advantage, that some players can notice if the pc player is using high sensitivty and through motion difference from awsd keys rather than joystick,
- Hacking is only brought upon console players by crossplay being a thing.
People can say all this nonsense about growing up or the real world all day long but they clearly are just taking a jab at me and not really making any good point about the issue.
In the real world you dont graduate to cheating being allowed, if you get caught you lose your job etc.

@averageheroz from what i understand there hasnt been a hack ever on xbox one, the extent of it is ddos ing and other things that aren't considered actual hacking of the game code or client or xbox software.
Im sure its possible but not like pc where you can just search and download if you know what you are doing. Not that i have ever done this.
@a-cranky-eskimo Yeah I wouldn't know..the closest I have got to hacks is youtube vids..watching people do it..just because I can't believe people need an advantage to win like that..to me it kills the game and makes it boring..so I don't understand why others would want to even do that..
@a-cranky-eskimo And that is what I mean..back to my main point..I hate that 10% of PC players download hacks and cheat and all that bad stuff..but then when I am playing fair I am a hacker because I am PC..but with anything one bad apple..I am not saying the balance is perfect..I just wish I was not a hacker due to what system I play on..lol but..I just wanted to let everyone know there are a lot more good PC players than there are bad ones! Us true and fair gamers no matter what system need to stick together! :D

I'm on xbox. I can handle my own against most players,even PC. But occasionally I come across that god amongst pirates PC player. It can be frustrating when 2 guys on a sloop manage to take out my galleon full of PL's. But it's very rare, & part of the pirate life. As long as Rare continues to be able to identify & ban those few that are using cheats, I dont think much of anything else need changing.

You can look at it however you want but your own post admits the advantage, so the only opinion or point of view is how strongly i feel about an attempt at balance and therefore fair play, not the advantage itself which is fact.
You can pretend that metaphor makes sense but by choosing console, it is choosing a walled gaming approach, and choosing to avoid hacking, and choosing to play against only players using controllers, (until SoT anyways) and im pretty sure in any ranked multiplayer game using a xim is considered cheating.
I like the slower pace in fps or most games that you aim things, with controller gameplay, and so do most casual (console owning) gamers. Consoles fill a need they arent some obsolete thing that you are above or better than for choosing pc.
If i played on pc or crossplay always existed and i chose controller i would have chosen hard mode. This is very far from the truth and you know it.

Don't worry lol Crank, there are those who agree with you and yes I'm on Xbox. Squaz05 the controller isn't hard mode, nor is it something I or any console player just picks. Last I checked consoles come with controllers right lol not K+M. Also increasing the sensitivity like the original poster said isn't a solution as the sensitivity for a mouse vs a joystick are a lot different. I myself had to go into the settings after the update and decrease the sensitivity back down lol. Likewise, adding K+M isn't the solution too, as most I would think like myself want to use the controller, as that's part of the reason for using a console. Now, if you add K+M to the Xbox and lets say its a little more of a lvl playing field with PC players, wouldn't those who decide to continue to use the controller be at a disadvantage. I'm sorry but K+M shouldn't be added, if you want to use those play on the PC. The fact that the PC has any advantage over the console isn't fair and add in the cheating issue no matter how small of a population, still isn't fair. I know the admiral guy brought up cross play and how that's the thing lol, is it really? Sony won't allow cross-play and Fortnite one of the biggest games right now, allows....cross play option lol what an interesting concept. To sit there though and say that the Xbox or rather consoles are on there way to being a PC is the most ignorant comment one can make. Is a fork on its way to being a spoon, they are similar right? How about a tv is that on its way to being a PC too. why do you think we are against optional crossplay? because if you guys leave, we have nothing left. and those who say that small server sizes are plenty enough for a small population, you are forgetting to account for region/latency/activity to account for those numbers.
lets take a Xbox Game ported to the PC, Call of Duty WWII (FOR PC ONLY)
steam charts have it at between 500 000 players and 750k active players
150k unique logins per day world wide with a max of 19 000 concurrent players
according to the forums there is a 30 minute wait for matchmaking.PC players (most of us) agree that there is an advantage and (again most of us) want to balance the game mechanics and features, WITHOUT removing or making crossplay optional. because that is just a death sentence for us.
honestly, for me personally (i can't speak for other PC players) I would be willing to have Controller only input if that means to keep the game forced crossplay.
(this way I can kick your pirate booty and show you that it's my skill that killed you and not the advantage I had)...P.S. I already do this with a controller on my couch (WITH A PC)
There are also Advantages most xbox players have over PC Players. I play with xbox players in my Crew and they always see ships, shipwrecks, and other players a lot earlier than me,
I often feel like a blind Pirate, they say turn left there is a shipwreck, i look search the Horizon for Birds but cant see anything it always ends that i have to answer them, take over the weel my Friend i cant spot it, so he takes over the weel, stear and yea after a short while i can also spot birds appear next to the sun, i guess xbox players with a big tv have a spotting Advantage sometimes up to a Minute or more...
