I'm based in Europe and was always getting connected to the European servers, but for a month or so I constantly get connected to American crews on American servers. I have nothing against Americans but I lag so much it's almost unplayable. I don't remember last time I was in an EU based server with EU crew when using OPEN CREW search. Are EU servers dead or the matchmaking is completely broken? This is the only game I have issues with when it comes to matchmaking.
I keep on getting connected to American servers. Why?
@captain-surgee Damn now you know how us Aussies feel, except we're getting connected to US an EU servers all day, every day. Unless you got a full crew of Aussies and the Sea of Thieves Gods are on you're side, then servers for the Southern Hemispheres are basically non-existent.
At least you know that there are servers in Europe and America, I don't even know if Oceanic servers exist! Especially when I'm getting lagged off my boat and up the stairs when those issues were apparently fixed a few months ago.

I didn't know about this...But yeah that makes sense. I'm often play in closed and barely see other crews...

When you use open crew, you are connected to the region of the person that started the session.
If you want to be connected to your EU region every time, start up a closed crew session.
Thanks a bunch. That's a pretty stupid system to be honest. Matchmaking should prioritize sessions by lowest ping/same region. Is it possible to open up a closed session while playing? I never really checked.

I feel you. I talk via skype with an Australian collegue daily and he lags awfully. A robot voice most of the time. I got no problems chatting with Japan, Philippines or US. I can only imagine how bad it is in online games.
