I may be missing the part of where to edit your characters skin tone and other things, but I do believe it should be implemented into the game if not already. My character I would love to change his body shape and face but I can’t unless I make a new character. Just a suggestion.. happy sailing 🙂
A way to edit the physical attributes of your character
I have an alt. I'm already bothered that I can't simply have a second character slot or more. I realize that the adventures the alternate character (and account) sail upon are meant to be unique to that character and I begrudgingly accept that. I also realize that characters are meant to be linked to our Xboxlive accounts and these characters are basically meant to be "us". My alternate character? He won't ever have the bilge rat items he's missed, nor the HDD items, etc. His money is unique to him as well and helps Blooddoll, none. Again, I can wrap my head around that and accept it, if I must, because it's all about this character as a valuable and significant character in this world.
In time, I'll also have 2 legendary pirates, that's neat.
But two major points flew into my mind as I made the character and journeyed on his first few voyages.
First, I as a player have been around since launch. My alternate character(s) on the other hand have no way to reflect that. if I ever truly start again... it's from nothing... even if I bought fancy chips ahoy stuff... who I am a real person and who this character are have no connection to each other if I ever swap accounts. I feel pity for people who might have to keep two accounts such as famous players who might want a public and an anonymous account!
Having to create a full account, e-mail, family association, or purchase of a game/game pass, and so on just to play someone else in the game is sickening to my finer sensibilities. It's stupid. Even if I can't share progress between characters, which I can wrap my head around, having to make a whole new account just to satisfy my desires for a new character boggles my mind.
As I made this character I realized that the ultimate pirate generator ....... sucks. It took me over 30 minutes of picking and choosing to get my characterization just right... even then... he still wasn't using the body type I wanted. I loved most of the pirates I spotted but I KNEW what I wanted. I wanted a dark skinned giant. Just trying to find those two elements was impossible. And though I searched for over a half hour.. even then I finally just gave up and settled on "close enough". The ones I had found in the wheel of futility I did like, wrong color skin, ugly hair colors (which at least today we're getting an update to correct), poor scar locations, whatever. Honestly, I can deal with the UPG and the wheel... but something as simple as picking the characters skin color should not require an endless cycle of re-rolls. It's comical, its unique, it's.....
...myopic and self absorbed of Rare to force literally zero cosmetic choice be allowed by the player in an effort to preserve the integrity of the UPG.
And they realize it... otherwise hair color wouldn't be something we could change now. I suppose they at least caved on that topic because even in the real world we can alter hair color, whereas if we're ugly or something... we have no choice in this game world. I can tolerate some of it but at least when making the character some power of choice would be nice. I really am talking about small things like skin color or Body type because I actually do enjoy, for what it is, that not all the pirates are specifically perfect or beautiful characters. I do enjoy that their faces and the "personality" of each is broad and unique to that pirate, that's cool.
But despite how 'cool' it is... some minor tweaks when we finally do find that perfect pirate would be greatly appreciated!
Overall, I'm in total support of this posts request. I won't go so far as to ask that we have much power, because I can wrap my head around the vision of the "Ultimate pirate generator"... but some things should be "no brainers" like skin color, body type, and default hair color.

They'll be holding there hand out via microtransactions soon enough. I don't understand why so many just didn't pick a pirate they liked initially.
Time, and bad luck. And with bad luck, I say that if after 2 or more hours rerolling the ipg, you find that the pirate you have just chose at the ipg actually doesn't look the same at the real world... well, you're #@%&$
I support this request, more trys at the IPG without losing the progress would be awesome (and logic if there's not a proper character editor..)
