Update Needed

  • After downloading the latest update and trying to start the game all I’m getting is an error message - “You need this update, but we can’t get it at the moment. Try again in a while.”

    Reinstalled and tried again but same message over and over, anyone else having this problem? X1 player

    Did you try to hard reset your xbox one? Doing that fixed it for me. You just need to press 10 seconds on the xbox one button on your console.

    Hard reset and reinstall doesn’t work.

  • Me too, same message, found update but cannot get it at the moment.

    Full Xbox reboot didn't fix this, and starting client after does not show a new update ready.

  • @skulliah I did another hard reset and it opened the game but I got a lavenderbeard error lol. One more hard reset later and it worked

  • I’m also experiencing this. Fully updated. Restarting my console fixes this issue. A bit tedious though. Would rather it just worked. At least there’s an easy workaround.

  • It seems to be random, which is strange. After update SoT ran as normal, but next time Lavenderbeard. Hard reset meant it ran again, but next login? Lavenderbeard again! Hopefully there's a hotfix coming.

  • i also could not see the update but opening the game said update. it finally took and same thing, need an update. one hard reset worked for me and all seems good so far.

    Ahoy there, Rare team are aware of the issue, there is a help page which might be useful in resolving the problem - if you could also report this via Support then they are also able to determine the scale of the problem.

  • I got this as well as a host of other errors...on two different XBoxes. Was quite frustrating as it’s intermittent. It started with you need an update but we can get it right now, then got it downloaded but it would give a something went wrong error which did not seem to exist in the error debase (050069 if memory serves), LavenderBeards, I did myriad cold boots during this whole process, reinstalled it still got LavenderBeard, cold booted and it worked once, the LavenderBeard again. I’m setting here wondering if it’ll run this AM on either XBox or give me one of the many error options. Ye-gads.

    I’ll add to the support tickets this morning...

  • +1 need an update but can't find it atm.
    Worked yesterday after update when my 3 friends had problems butthis is a new post.

    I like how the post above says there is a help page with possible fixes but there is no link :(

  • Since the last update, I receive this all the time and have a simple solution that has worked for me 100% of the time. Simply log out of your xbox account profile and log back in. Fast and easy.

  • @musicmee I kept track of it all through liza, I reinstalled the content which fixed the xbox asset being (lost/overlapped?) encountered some lavenderbeard then it's let me smoothly return to the seas thankfully.
