According to the winner, they did indeed just recently receive their sails and outfits.
Seems like they're just happy they ended up being real haha

Rare said we will obtain all the "regional" cosmetics after 2 months. And I don't think we should start thinking they were lying. I am pretty sure they will give us this cosmetics.
Think that the winner also got £80000 in the real life. So don't think the cosmetics were the real prize but just a temporary exclusivity.

Chip's ahoy customizations will be avariable for everyone. At least is what I have read. So this is another reason to think that yes, regional customizations are only temporary exclusive. And since this was a regional contest, customizations should be able in 2 months for everyone.
@guepard4 there is a bit of a difference though between buying a few packets of biscuits and winning a massive competition that included the prize of £80,000 worth of golden bananas!
This should remain an exclusive item for the team that won the competition, end of in my opinion.

@Guepard4 Question: Did the competitors only have to compete with other competitors from the same region or did they have to compete with players from all eligible regions?
@guepard4 as I stated before, the banana sails and pirate customization will not be made available to other players at any time. This is solely for those that won the contest, and will remain that way, this was not an item that was available regionally, it was a contest prize.

That's really trying to stretch their words.
Especially since they never said ALL exclusives, nor did they say ALL REGIONAL exclusives.
All that's been confirmed is all TIMED exclusives, and since nothing other than comiccon and E3 exclusives have been declared as timed... Rare can pretty much take it as they want and decide what going forward is and isn't a timed exclusive.

No need to shout fella, again, I can't buy ChipsAhoy cookies like most folk but I'm not going to ask for them to re-release the content for me.
It's an ugly yellow sail and an ugly yellow banana outfit, not the end of the world in the grand scheme of things.
@guepard4 If i were you, I simply would have moved to a new country, got myself a new house, hooked up to their internet, found myself a new pet for company, signed onto xbox, ate popcorn, lost the contest to another group who beat me to victory while I had been moving.
