They need to change Merchant Alliance voyages so that they give multiple orders per voyage. Gold Hoarders voyages can give multiple maps/riddles, Order of Souls voyages can give multiple bounties, so why is the Merchant Alliance the only trading company to give one single order at a time, every time, which must be collected and delivered before a new one is started?
If you had multiple orders (which may or may not need to be delivered to different outposts) you would be able to work toward fulfilling several orders at a time.
Say, for example, you had the following four orders:
- 1 Pink Bristled Pig, 2 Red Speckled Chickens, 1 Gunpowder Barrel
- 1 Golden Chicken, 1 Pink and Black Spotted Pig, 1 Blue Dappled Snake, 2 Golden Snakes
- 1 Crate of Wooden Planks
- 1 Black Scaled Snake, 1 White-Feathered Chicken, 1 Black Coated Pig, 1 Gunpowder Barrel
You would be able to go to an island with snakes and chickens, round all of them up at once - provided everything you needed was there - and move on to an island with pigs to gather all the animals you need. Stop at a dormant fort along the way if you haven't already located the gunpowder you need, all the while gathering the Wooden Planks needed to fill the crate. Then head to the outpost(s) and complete your deliveries.
Of course, if you deliver an item to the wrong outpost, that's on you, which would give players a little extra incentive to pay closer attention to the handy fact that Merchant Alliance orders change as the items are turned in, checking them off the list in a sense.
However, the one thing that the voyages for the other two Trading Companies have which Merchant Alliance voyages do NOT need are multiple chapters - that would defeat the purpose entirely.
