Have 2 sets of servers for sloops and galleons. I dont mind running into them but after a while it can get annoying. Have it so its still populated in a server so the risk is still there but maybe not as many big ships.

My brother and I just sank a galleon.. it was incredibly fun and thrilling. We managed to sneak up to them, position our ship right in front of them and blast them. Huge battle ensued. They tried to get away but we boarded them with a cannon, dropped their anchor, stole a chest and sunk them with cannon shots.
Please don’t take this away. The galleons are really slow to manoeuvre and it does balance the odds against the sloops.
@bloodysmack Same here, just sank two galleons on a sloop today, one of them had some nice loot as well!
@typical-mat yea its supposedly only 6 ships or 24 people to a server something like that. sometimes i go multiple voyages without seeing any ships
The main problem players have is there not as cautious and aware as they should be, you always have to be on the lookout. SoT as of now is Kill or be Killed!
My crew is never at a disadvantage from the start because we are always aware of the threat coming.
I have also only encountered 1 friendly crew... and i honestly love it that way.

The ship balance right now is fine, they just need more ships per server they could easily get 16-20 ships per server not only will that lessen the amount the same ship can target another ship just to harass them over and over. But it could also lead to multiple crews teaming up to take on others and raids.No its not balanced, what needs to happens is that galleon should take way more time to repair 1 hole atm its what like 3 seconds? sloop has 1 cannon each side so it will take forever to sink one if they have just 1 guy repairing and lots of planks while galleon if u happen to go either side and they have 2 men on cannons u get decimated and fall off/die as soon as u get hit.
In any pirate movie you ever see, you never see the same carbon copy ship sailing around the sea. You see a variety! If you split the meager two ships we have into separate servers it kinda kills the immersion. Plus when my brother and I sail on our sloop, we wreck galleons. It's so much fun. Id really hate to see servers limited to galleon or sloop only.
@x-ev1lpenguin-x I can second that. Galleons can easily catch up with sloops and decimate them with their 3 cannons vs sloops 1. Makes raiding just too much of a risk and waste of time.

I agree 100% I for one along with all my friends are getting sick of going on Voyages and getting stocked on loot then a galleon comes outta nowhere and sinks us! I'm getting tired of doing all this work just to be faced with a 4 man crew (or more because I've seen 2 groups of 4 on one boat before) and we have no defense against them seeings how the galleon has 4 cannons and if it literally runs into the sloop the galleon takes little damage and the sloop is pretty much sunk! 100% disagree! If you are a sloop and you have a boatload you aren't gonna stick around and fight, and that's where the galleon has you! Even in full wind a sloop will not out run a galleon, a good galleon crew can also out manuever a sloop with the sails being positioned right. Try sailing into the wind, if you do that a Galleon will never catch you.

A Sloop will leave a Galleon way behind if it's sailing against the wind.

My crew has moved on to other games, so these days I find myself solo slooping it most of the time and I think it would be pretty boring if I only ran into other sloops.
For the most part I'll engage any ship regardless and in the past couple days I sank a galleon that foolishly decided to store their gunpowder on the top deck and a little later I got absolutely wrecked by a competent duo sloop.
Players who know what they're doing are just hard to sink, regardless of what ship they're on.
Am i the only one that understand that a sloop is more deadly than a gallion???
Dont you guys know that a sloop is faster against the wind than a gallion???
Does it matter If a gallion have 4 cannons and you just one??? Nope it does not because people cant aim anyway and the gallion is the bigger target.
And its more fun to se a gallion run from a sloop :)
In other words (plz step up your gameplay and stop being salty)
