Since this latest event with powder kegs having fuses added I cannot tell you how many galleons I have sunk simply by boarding and climbing the crows nest. If you find yourself in the presence of a Keg (or in some cases many) congrats! you've won. Light that fuse and drop them off the nest one by one and watch madness ensue as explosions rock the ship beneath you and the enemy runs frantically and meets a quick end to the savage explosions. Safe to say I have not been storing kegs on board while doing Forts but it sure is a lot of fun taking advantage of those who do. Happy sailing!
Want to sink a Galleon? Check that crows nest ;)
@ve111a The fuse is awesome, I generally board enemy ships with a sword and blunderbuss. It was quite annoying to blow up the keg at a safe distance using those weapons...no longer an issue :)

Lol that was the reason I switched to the pistol sword, Honestly I haven't looked back I have way more success with it after the nerf.
@ve111a I can generally one shot with the blunderbuss at super close range, I love the pistol as well. Its my go-to for water combat... love that 2 tap! Feels so crisp

I still pull it out on occasion, I just find the hit reg in this game is unreliable (try shooting at a barrel from medium distance and get markers but no boom) and have missed out on kills even point blank so I just adjusted my playstyle.

@novas-soul Yeah, a lot of people have had an absurd amount of boom booms on their ships lately, I wonder why.
Probably because you can farm them from gunpowder skellies by just shooting the skeleton instead of the barrel
After you're done with the event, there's no reason not too....
@pink-geek-chic no reason not too.. other than the fact that they will be raining down upon you once you get boarded lol
