Carnivorous Plants! Would you like to see them?

  • Carnivorous Plants! Should they shoot things at you? should they eat you whole or just bite you? Should they be able to hit you or throw you, maybe they spit out treasure? Should they stay in one place or move around? Would you like to see them in the game?????????? I would love to hear the Community's Ideas on this!

    They should be well-camouflaged. Different sizes as well, from the smallest ones who simply bite you, and the largest ones who swallow you whole and you have to fight your way out, much like when one's being swallowed by Kraken.

    Upon slaying one maybe they'll drop some kind of seed that you can turn in for gold.

    Come to think of it, would be great if there could be a merchant faction solely dedicated to hunting and killing beasts.

    I think it’s safe to say that literally every facet of this game desperately needs more depth and tangible content added. Especially things that are meant to be sandbox elements. I would hope merchanting makes that list eventually....

  • Yes, though they should attack anything that comes into contact. Would be nice to use them tactically against skeletons too.

    Treasure Tounge: Produces the same shine as a piece of treasure from a shiny barb that is the tip of its 'tongue'. It will lash erupt from the ground it was hiding under as a thick root/vine and hit you once upon entering melee range. The root will go back into the ground after 10 seconds, but if anything remains in melee range it will continue to attack.

    Venus Man-Trap: Much like its smaller cousin, it will hold prey in its mouth until dead, dealing 5% damage a second until a fellow pirate hits the plant to release you, or you can swing 6 times with your cutlass, cannot be escaped without a cutting melee weapon. Very obvious with red leaves and purple 'head'.

    Poison Plumet: A large, red/purple flower that sits in a closed position, low to the ground. Upon stepping on the Plumet a short, gurgling chirp sound will announce its activation giving you just enough time to get out of the way before a cloud of red, poisonous pollen erupts from the plant. The cloud would go away after 15 seconds but the damage would cause a red version of the snake bite (screen obscuring) doing 50% damage over 10 seconds. Staying in the cloud constantly restarts the timer so staying in it will kill you. Also applies a slight wobble to your walk (similar to being drunk).

    I want more of everything!!

    I think the majority of us want more and engaging content!!

    So yes please Rare we want stuff. We want this game full of life with endless possibilities and surprising encounters!!

    I always thought those huge red bulbous flowers on Thieves Haven ought to spit something at you, like poisonous pollen or something that paralyzes you so they can wrap you up in tendrils.....

  • The red bulbous ones should be like venus fly traps, venus pirate traps maybe? Go to close and they try to gather you in their mouth. Only way out is for a team mate to kill the plant... if they do you come out poisoned for a bit like the snakes... if not then you die

  • Sounds like such a good idea, and yet all I can think about is:

  • I want eagles nests on the random lone rocks, the eagles collect shiny stuff - you have to cannon up to them to collect them. Time it wrong and the eagle will pick you up and fly you halfway across the map and drop you.

  • @katttruewalker They would spit poison but then you might end up with the same issue as the snakes have now where you get a double shot snake venom latte..lol

  • I would definitely like to see this plant but on some new content with cannibal natives that have necklaces with eaten pirates finger bones on them. Or femurs as spear weapons and maybe even some coconuts on that island or pineapples. I'm tired of bananas variety is the spice of life..lol

  • It’s a great idea, Sime plants will poison you maybe some hang on to you until your crew cuts you free. Maybe some spit you across the island or into the ocean.

    Variety is the spice of life!

  • @mmountain i like the clam idea a lot. Not a lot of underwater loot or adventuring...speckle these around island reefs and it would be more interesting to actually swim underwater. With maybe a 10%chance of finding a pearl to cash in. Id also like to see a divingbell for those deep sunken ships and if coral reefs could be rendered farther and when you approach an island(when the island banner pops up) making the entire surounding area water and all..explorable

    I would like the regular type (The red type of plant which we see on some islands) to be stationary. They will lash out at nearby players, trying to grab them with their tendrils. On a succesfull grab they will slowly drag the player towards their venomous mouth. (the tendrils can be cut off with three cutlass slashes)

    When the player are dragged close enough, the plant will perform a serious of deadly bites. Each bite deals approximately 20% of a players health pool. The plant itself takes six cutlass slashes to overcome, and are completly immune to gunfire.

  • @crackerjackx13 Could do quite a few things. I was thinking plants like music so that could have a calming effect like snakes.
    -attacks could fully encase you like a kraken attack.
    -could chomp,poison,disorient player.
    -Could combine with the quick sand idea you had. Have to play music to escape buy luring plants to player with tune

  • @barnacle-blake i like the idea of music having a effect, now im thinking maybe also a bucket of water also tying into it somehow also, it would give more uses to the bucket.

  • I like the idea of a plant that might behave like one of Karen’s tentacles. Grabs you, poisons you, pulls you underground to your death or smashes you into the ground for damage. Tosses you across the island.
